Looks like Favero has new SPD-SL pedals coming next week. Fingers crossed for MX-type platform (no pods)!
I mean that is the obvious move. The Assioma Duos are from 2017, so it makes sense to update them to the newer style now that they’ve launched and have good field experience with their other pedals that filled the gaps in their product lines.
If so, it won’t be enough to compel me (or most people, I suspect), to upgrade. But that’s fine and probably what they expect.
They’ve got some pictures up on weightweenies in the 2025 product release rumor thread, podless, spd-sl, I think they look really sharp. I don’t need them but I do want a pair.
I just bought their MX-1 pedal, after having spent the past 8 or so years on crank arm based meters.
Guessing this will be on my list too, since it looks like it solved the Q-factor issue of the previous road pedal.
Have a pair of both the current assiomas and the pro-mx, both have been faultless and very abused. Will definitely grab a pair when they do release so I can go back to my preferred spd-sl without the q-factor issue.
That was an advantage for me.
Gonna be ordering these the moment they are available for purchase
And I already have 2 pairs of the old Assiomas
They are now available on Faveros Site
You can order it now. I have ordered a pair of ASSIOMA PRO RS-2
I just ordered a pair too! The only fit difference I can tell is that they have a lower than Shimano stack height at 10.5mm vs shimano 105’s 16.5mm. Q-factor is 53mm on both
Anyone ordered from Favero directly before from the UK? I know you have to pay 20% VAT but wondering what Import duty and handling fee you were charged? i think I will wait and see what the prices of these are like with uk retailers before deciding on where I order from.
Is the stack height really 4mm less than dura-ace pedals?? Are they measuring stack height the same?
This is critical for me as I am maxed out on seat post height right now and this might give me enough distance to allow move to shorter cranks.
I have no information, but this is the right question to ask, I think.
Separately, if we in the US order from Favero, do we get hit by tariffs?
The same question came up with the SPD pedal.
answering my own question. It’s actually the opposite. Favero is not including cleat height. For the pedal body only, no cleats, it is 8.8mm (Dura-ace) to 10.5 (Assioma).
I also want to acknowledge the team that put together the Favero landing page. Extremely high quality work there to match the quality of the engineering of the product itself.
I’ll definitely be curious to hear from people who start using them and are swapping between road and MTB to hear how easy or hard it is.
I have the sram axs left crank arm pm on my road bike and gravel bike and am questioning the numbers a bit at times so I’d love to get the new faveros
wondering if now is the time to replace my heavy Powertap P1s or not?
This is my first order from Favero to UK but I went and looked on UK government website and the trade tariffs from the European union are 0% for pedals: https://www.trade-tariff.service.gov.uk/commodities/8714961010?day=18&month=5&year=2025#import_duties
