Just did Gibbs and worked well. Had to pair my devices again which was quick and easy.
If you can is it possible to take off calibration prompt for Neo series? I have a 2t and as you know it does not need to be calibrated but maybe this is just thing for all trainers and cannot exclude that one.
Haven’t been able to test out a workout as my Tacx Flow Smart Trainer is only showing up as a power meter, not as a smart trainer. I tried turning the trainer off and back on, turning Bluetooth off and on on the phone, getting TR App to forget the Flow and restart it. Every time it turned up on TR as a power meter.
I went back to the old app and it picked up the Flow as a smart trainer straight away.
For me the app button pushes are very slow if unreposnsive at times compared to old one. It is like it is still loading in the background.
For example after Gibbs yesterday I went back into the app and clicked in the completed workout and it took longer than normal. After it went to the next screen it kind of froze.
My other thing which I mentioned before when you change the date of a workout and press save you have to press the back button 2 times. I was expecting after pressing save for it to go back to the main screen.
I too am finding that it’s slow to navigate around, laggy when trying to get around to different screens. Not sure if that’s the app or a function of my phone being old. This version is also a battery killer vs the current app.
I’m on a manual trainer, and to get the best workout experience I need to change resistance level manually during a ride. A few comments on this process with the new UI:
The “Save” button here would be massively improved if it was larger, and the full screen width. Sweaty fingers don’t find it easy to tap small buttons
The < at the top left before “VirtualPower” is the only tappable area. It would be a big improvement if the whole word “VirtualPower” was tappable, rather than having to hunt for the small < to go back.
The blue banner at the top… doesn’t work from this screen. It doesn’t take you back to the top level and resume ride. If it did this would be brilliant. Bug?
On this screen I’d prefer to have the entire virtual power block launch settings, rather than just the “Settings” button. Another “hard to tap with sweaty fingers” issue.
Overall → successful ride. Slightly disconcerted by the new font on the main screen, but I think this is simply “it’s different to how it was before” (I’m finding the bold numbers hard to read, but probably just “am I used to the font”)
First run of the Beta app today, sadly didn’t work very well for me doing Shasta.
The Powermatch between my Assioma Duo pedals and Elite Direto didn’t work properly. In all Powermatch cases the Assioma pedals was correct on the power, but the Direto wattage/resistance was massively reduced. I had set the Responsiveness to 1.00
I tried all the Powermatch options, and only by ignoring the Assioma pedals and just using the Direto in Erg did the workout respond properly.
Next ride scheduled for Wednesday. Hope it won’t happen again.
I like the look of the rest of the app (especially the Finish Time - important for the family!), but as others have said it’s quite slow to respond when tapping around, some times not sure if it’s registered, then catches up a few seconds later.
Very slow to respond. I loaded and played with the current non beta app today and only real new thing for me on this beta is ability to move workouts around. I can do that on safari and see the tss chart. I saw the time end but honestly I can do the maths for that.
Also I like how the workout variants came up on the old app.
I understand why it was chosen but it’ll take some getting used to the React Native experience vs a native iOS app. The controls just aren’t as snappy. Like others I experienced a lot of lagging as well, even beyond the initial sync.
One feature of the previous app I missed is the ability to add an edit notes on a workout. I do this after every workout but couldn’t see a way to do this in the new app.
Minor nit is the text wrapping in the options on a screen like this looks a bit off:
@Pete thanks for including me in the beta early access. I don’t see that anyone’s mentioned this one yet - on my iPhone X, iOS 13.6.1, when I view completed rides in the Calendar view the Duration, TSS, IF, and KCal displays are chopped off. Looks like the app is using iOS Dynamic Type there and resizing per that. My iOS font size is currently set 1 notch larger than the middle.
One other bug(?) I just noticed with todays workout. - my last couple of workouts my HRM connected just fine. However, I needed to go into devices to get my PM and Trainer to connect. They did not just start working when I started pedaling.
One small bug I noticed today while doing a Ramp Test was that after I ended the test, the graphic didn’t show the cooldown until the minute I ended the test during was over. Instead it appeared as though I was undershooting the power target. Once that minute was up though, everything looked normal again, and the cooldown displayed, including the minute I had just completed, as expected.
Immediately after completing a workout the TSS and IF are overstated → here shown on Carter. First screenshot is on ride completion. Second screenshot is after sync with trainer road?
