When I click to join the Beta, a message pops up saying it takes a few minutes to join, but nothing happens.
Uninstall and reinstall worked for me - that installs it with the beta update
All that re-installing time only to get the old app again. Guess I’ll wait til it rolls out properly then…
As a bonus the future scheduled workouts have disappeared too
It only took a minute on mine so not sure what’s happened. Maybe when you next restart the device it will jog the beta update.
That happened to me as well. I gave up in the end.
The next day I updated multiple apps and TR was on the beta version.
The app looks good. Very clean looking. (Galaxy S21 Ultra fandangledohicky).
I notice that it’s got a real issue with the back button pushing it into the background. As soon as you select anything the bastard won’t get off the screen unless you hit the home button.
I’m pretty sure it’s like that to stop other apps butting in during workouts? If not, it’s really annoying to keep closing all the open apps to shutdown TR.
Using on a Samsung Galaxy Tab A with all devices (Garmin Vector 2, Garmin HR, Tacx 2T) connected via ANT+. BT turned off on the tablet. Learned from previous version of TR app that I would have a few sensor dropouts if running BT on the tablet.
Haven’t seen any dropouts on the TR beta app. The new powermatch is more responsive, which I like. Also, appreciate the end time and workout name displayed. Didn’t come across the estimated FTP during a ramp test (sliding the second panel) until I had already finished the test. Next time, maybe. The time axis was displayed cutoff until I played with the global font size setting for the tablet.
I agree with others that the sensor graph traces are too bold.
A definite improvement as long as the app crashes others have mentioned is sorted out.
(I also didn’t spot it - I’d assumed it would show live FTP by default, but it doesn’t)
Just joined the beta so apologies if these issues have already been logged…
- My HRM sensor tab was shifted off to the right so I couldn’t select and enable it
-
the back button doesn’t always work when I think it should i.e. I’d expect it to go back out of the sensor pair screen to the main menu.
-
The screen doesn’t always rotate when I rotate my phone.
All this on a Google Pixel 5.
Actual workout seemed to work fine and I like the new calendar
Thanks again for all the feedback! We’re actively working through our list of issues, and are still adding based on feedback. Please keep it coming!
This release has our new TrainNow feature. This is intended to be used by athletes not currently on a plan, or anyone who is looking to add some volume to their current plans on off-days. There will be more information coming out on this feature, but we wanted to get it out there for testing.
Here’s a quick rundown of what was in this latest release.
• Added TrainNow, a new feature to suggest workouts based on your training history
• Fixed a problem where the Today's Workout wasn't showing correctly.
• Added KICKR DIRCON support
• Correctly store end date of current training phase
• Fixed a problem where fresh installs show “0%”
• Fixed a problem where certain overlaps in Plan Builder caused errors
• Fix Pedal to Play after recalibrating mid workout
Hmm… now after opening the app my calendar shows for split second before it just goes to an unresponsive black screen?
Edit: clearing app user data in settings fixed it
I’ve reinstalled the App to get the beta version. How do you know if the beta version has installed. The only difference seems to be that I’ve lost all my Scheduled workouts. There are still there though on my iPad
In play store under my apps and games go to the beta tab
Thanks. It looks like I’ve actually had the beta version installed for ages. I must have realised it had loaded when I first signed up months ago. Obviously it must be working ok for me. Shame about losing all the scheduled workouts when I needlessly reinstalled it.
I think this is always synced online, so unless you are using your android device offline, you should alway be able to re-install and resync (automatically) and have your calendar filled again.
I had to search for it and found is eventually in the side menu under workouts as a new tab.
I assumed it would also be available from the calendar, but I don’t see any option to get a suggested workout on an empty day, I tried clicking an empty day and the + button, but I get the default list of things to add (workout, plan, bike, run, … ) when I select workout, it’s just the regular workout filter screen, no suggestions anywhere.
So for an improvement, I would suggest to change the workout filter screen you get when you add something to the calendar to include a “Train Now” option for better usability
The suggestions seem fine, but I’m in recovery week, so not that complex in the algorithm I guess
Thanks again - All just suddenly appeared after I opened it again
TR - Small bug on beta version for me. Andoird split screen causes TR to pause workout and not work as well as previous version. Using One Plus Nord for reference and tested in both landscape and portrait orientations. A beta users should we report findings or does the software pick up errors and reports automatically. Keep up the good work.
Hello, just done first workout on Android beta with a Samsung A1 tablet. This device is not an especially good one but it works. 2 points though.
- The red and yellow lines are way too thick.
- When you adjust the intensity can you make it so the on screen display fades away after a set amount of time? It’s not immediately obvious how to clear it from the screen so better if it clears itself.
Thanks.
Just to update this I checked back on Play Store the next morning and it said I was in the Beta even though my app was the old one. So I un-installed and re-installed again, and had the new version.
I used it today for the first time. I noticed the ANT+ connection to the trainer appeared to drop out twice in a 10 second period mid-workout, but both times re-connected straight away without me having to do anything, and no fluctuation apparent to the watts from the trainer. Just thought I’d mention this as it never happened with the old version. Otherwise all good so far
On Android only way to close the app is to kill the process - back key does nothing and there is no exit button
Found an issue with updating the training plan (changing workout days). It doesn’t work in the app, had to go to the website to do it. When clicking update the load icon spins for a second but nothing appears to happen.
