Early Access to Android Beta - Updated TrainerRoad

I am having the same issues with my Galaxy S10+

Also twice this week I changed the window during endurance rides and the app crashed some time while I was away, the first was during a Facebook Messenger video chat, the second I was watching a YouTube video. After it crashed during the YouTube video I couldn’t get my sensors to reconnect

I’m having big issues with the latest update. Responses to selecting things are seeing long delays and/or no action. Its especially noticeable when attempting to browse the workouts.

Had an issue with the latest update that the kibosh on todays workout using beta. I’ve circled back to troubleshoot… not sure what the problem was precisely, but eventually got it working.

  • Started app. Got this:

Note the format code {0} leaking out. App would then crash shortly after.
  • Thought I saw something upthread about uninstall/reinstall, so I tried that. It got 1 step further… “saving database” or something, then it crashed again.
  • I tinkered with the app permissions (thought maybe the uninstall cycle foobared them)… enabled locations svc and file access. That didn’t get any further.
  • Finally I turned off bluetooth and tried again. This time it started, What?!?

Device: lenovo tab4 10"

I’ll add this screenshot from weeks ago. What’s up with the thick lines?

Overall I’d say the proportions of things are all other the place. Tiny workout name and endtime, but Watt legend font and workout data in the top half is quite a bit bigger than it used to be. I can barely make the (2…) horizontal graph lines. Feels like lots of deadspace in the UI.

My week 3 trad base hours and TSS count is wrong
As you can see, the correct total hours and TSS should be 13.45 and 646

I also had a similar black screen issue and it happened immediately after I finished may ramp test this past week, so I think your suspicion is spot on. Cleared the cache and storage and it fixed the issue.

20 minute ftp test ran smoothly yesterday (if somewhat distressing on me). No app issues have followed since.
Made an annotation to a week on the Web version Calendar and it carried through perfectly to app… :slightly_smiling_face:

I did the Ramp Test early today and when I just opened the app, the was a momentary flash of the calender then a black screen. Clearing the memory and cache seemed to fix the issue. Also on Saturdays ride it didn’t find my ANT+ heart rate monitor until 37 minutes into the workout. I was able to connect to the HRM with my Garmin so it was wasn’t a issue with the HRM.

Also on the calendar when you select a workout it no longer shows the variants of the workout. The variant tab is missing

I still only see the beta of the 27th (play store date) : (2020.36.0.92038, in app version nr)
Do you need to take action to go from closed to public beta? Or just wait a bit longer?

I can’t see ver 92040 either. I’m on ver 92038.

On version 92038, nothing new in Play store to update to.

Same as above!

I am well registered in the Beta program, but in the Play Store I see all the time this message below, which means “joining your account to the program. This can take a few minutes”, but it never gets further :frowning:

We’re trying to get to the bottom of why it isn’t showing up for everyone, I’ll keep updating as we find out what is going on. Thanks for the patience!

Not a “bug”, but I’ve noticed that when opening the ramp test, you are immediately greeted by the “welcome to the ramp test” screen and have to click “Start Ramp Test” which then immediately starts the workout even before you start pedaling. Of course it auto pauses if you aren’t immediately riding, but I would prefer that it doesn’t automatically start until you begin to pedal, like other workouts. I typically open the workout and then make sure all my devices are connected, calibrate the powermeter, etc. and it’s just slightly more annoying to do this on the Ramp Test

Ant+ dropped out about 2 minutes into session but recovered itself after pausing for about 10 seconds.
It didn’t drop out on wahoo element bolt that I am still having to use to get miles into Strava as app doesn’t pick them up.

Just added some cool down to my ride, and just before ending (+30, 88 minutes in) I accidentally closed TR, on reopening I saw the full ride a split second, but then the initial 60 minutes synced to web and strava and the extension was gone. No option to resume either.

But besides it didn’t happen when not on Strava… the app doesn’t work anymore, when opening the screen stays black.

I will clear data and resync, but some half data seem to have broken everything :grimacing:

Quick work around update: It looks like if you leave the Beta on your device and then rejoin the Beta through the regular Android Beta Program then it seems to be showing up for most people.

Thanks! (the 28 missing minutes is ok ;), but it’s an issue to look into, it should be possible to resume or at least sync what was done )
clearing data fixed the issue with the hanging/blank app + just joined the regular beta, but I guess this needs some time too…

Left beta in play store, registered on the link pete provided, uninstalled the app, rejoined beta in play store, reinstalled and presto, I got the new version.

Feedback so far. I logged in and the keyboard didn’t go away while the slideshow info pages were up.
