My work is switching their wellness program from offering subsidies at one of two local gyms to something called Wellhub (previously known as gympass). I was clicking around on their site a bit and see a selection of gyms and apps that are included but can’t really tell what it is and how much things cost etc until it goes live in a couple months. I did see Strava is one of the apps included…so wasn’t sure if that means you can get premium for a discount or free?
Just curious if anyone else has this program through their employer and what it’s like
Hey, my employer offers this, I can try and answer questions for you. I don’t know if subscription charges are employer specific.
My wife saved alot of money on her gym subscription, she was paying £40 a mth but through wellhub she was paying £16.99 (just gone up to £19.99) but that includes Strava premium.
I have something very similar now with my insurance (onepass). There are membership tiers… i have the mid level plan. Gets me into any of that level or lower gyms. You just go in and signup and they use your code from the Gympass as the payment. The gym only gets paid if you go (like $2.46 per visit) so if you don’t use it… the insurance company makes money instead of the other way around. A bit of a rip for the gyms sadly if you don’t go often.
I have three memberships right now - sure makes it nice and flexible depending on my location or travel! Plus gets me iFit (nordictrack) app and many other apps for free. Also Walmart+ so its pretty sweet, all for the price of what I was already paying for the YMCA.
Yes, it gives me free strava premium. It’s a bit of a pain cuz it expires every 6 months. You can’t extend it ahead of time, so you just wait until it happens, and then reactivate for another 6 months. No biggie, though.
That’s all I use it for. My gym is in my basement. But I can check other stuff if you have anything specific in mind.
