Do I need a rest week before starting a plan?

I’ve decided to get a little more structured. Can I jump straight into the first week of SSB MV? I have been doing way more volume than SSB MV, but feel fairly fresh. Or should I take a rest week?


I plan to add z2 to make up some of the missing volume, rather than do a high volume plan. You can see above that I messed up my last block due to nonstop rain. It’s more like a high volume taper.

Are you planning to do most of your sessions outdoors, or on the trainer? If you’re heading outdoors, I’d say crack-on. If you’re feeling fairly fresh but planning to be on the trainer, I’d give myself a day, maybe two. Personally I find that doing the work indoors builds the fatigue quicker.
