Deals / Sales / Discounts for Cycling "Stuff" (2018-2022)

Agreed with @Stringwise. I only used one Vornado fan for a year or so sitting on the floor in front of me angled up towards my chest. I picked up a Lasko fan when they were on sale a while back and put that on the floor to the front-right of me angled up at my chest. Total game changer. Sweat wicks off me and I barely need a sweat towel or anything anymore. I feel like intervals have also been a little easier due to the increased cooling. Wish I would have picked one up earlier. Highly recommended over the Vornado. I still have the Vornado going too, but the Lasko is much more powerful for about the same footprint.

You’re such an amateur! Pro tip is to have it at your back so you can have constant tailwind!

Just a heads up - looks like the REI 20% off coupon is working on trainers after all. I’ve got a list of all the smart trainers that are currently both in stock, as well as compatible with the 20% coupon. Also, Varia Radar is in there, as well as Vector pedals. I’m digging around for any other nuggets, and will add them to the full list:

Enjoy!

Oooh, may be finally time to pick up the Kickr Core. Just in time for winter. Awesome stuff Ray!

Now wondering if the Kickr Core is a worthwhile upgrade from my Elite Direto (2018).

I wish REI still had the Kickr smart bike, even if the coupon didn’t work. Looks like it’s out of stock pretty much everywhere

Does Training Peaks tend to do a Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale? If so, what has the discount been previously?

Have you tried Intervals.ICU? I gave TP up and sent a donation to these guys instead.

I use that myself and also donated.

I got the kickr core (also at 20% off) when my Direto power brick died during spring lock down. The core has a different ride feel that just seems very smooth compared to the Direto. Sometimes I miss the Direto feel, but I would NEVER go back as the Kickr is so much quieter. If you can get the Kickr you can probably get decent resale on your Direto. I feel more future proofed with the Core with knot a few hundred of net cost.

Done that on rollers! BAM! off the edge.

Vertigo on the trainer while watching Cape Epic.

FWIW - Pearl Izumi has 25% off site wide.

Pactimo Black Friday sale on now… some great deals like summit raptor bibs at $119

Thanks…just ordered a pair of 12-Hour bibs.

Any meaningful difference between Summit Raptor and Summit Strike Bibs? Assuming the all-important chamois is the same, but just wondering

I think they have a ā€˜compare bibs’ page… yep, here it is: Cycling Bib Short Comparison | Pactimo

Details the differences, including the choice of chamois: ā€œENDURANCE ANATOMICā€ or ā€œPERFORMANCE FORCEā€. I should have gone for the Strike bibs for performance force in my pants.

Uh, that looks enticing - been planning to build one myself, but not sure I have all the tools needed plus the time, this actually doesn’t seem too expensive. Have you heard any reviews of this one @mcneese.chad? Any word on it fitting a Elite Suito?
