Cheers - i’ll get plenty of use for that. And, it being mainly sugar, I don’t fear the end date that much ![]()
They also have a good deal on Cliff Bars btw ![]()

I have bought mine from merlin cycles. It was 30% off. Sometimes there are also good deals in BikeInn
That is for posting that Amazon deal on the Lasko…finally motivated me to get a couple.
I have everything very low for my indoor setup, so never thought those fans would work for me…so I was using a pedastal fan blowing straight at me and two Vornados on the side, which were lower.
But the Lasko fans were MUCh smaller than I thought they were (I guess I was picturing something close to an actual carpet drying unit). Can easily sit on the floor and has enough adjustability to still angle up and blast me with the air.
Kicking myself now for not ordering them sooner!!!
there’s a reason that flavor is so cheap…
I tried once.
It was not great…
But it gets the job done…

I wasn’t a fan of the margarita flavor at first, but then I came up with a flavor combination that I hereby claim as my own original invention, and that had never before been discovered or used in other applications.
I call it the “Watermelon Margarita” and here’s the recipe:
2 bloks margarita
1 blok watermelon
The best part is that they both have extra sodium, so you don’t have to deal with whether or not to salt the rim.
Are these better than say a Vornado fan? I bought these a while back
I have both, the two are not comparable. The Vornado is a fine fan for moving air around a room. It’s also going to move some air for you on the trainer so if that’s all you have it’s not that it will not work, it clearly will. However, the Lasko/squirrel cage style fans are a different ballgame entirely. Massive airflow but focused on a smaller area. They are used to dry carpets and subfloors in the case of flooding or other unexpected water/moisture. The rapidly moving air causes significantly more evaporation. Point the Lasko at your chest or upper chest/head and it’s a game changer. I’ve moved my Vornados into the garage to move air while I’m out there in the summer. Great fan but just a different style and much less effective on the trainer.
That is why my front “head” fan is high and blows more “across” my face than directly at it. I’ve tried it directly into the face and it’s not comfortable with a blower fan. Works OK with a circular one, though, because the flow is much less “direct”.
Ok since we are all owning up to our fan habits, I don’t really like it aimed at my head either.
If I’m doing long threshold intervals I will aim it for my head but then I wear my Oakleys which is yeah, pretty embarrassing. What happens in this thread stays in this thread, right?
I’m about to start wearing my clear prescription Oak’s inside, so I can read the finer print on screens during rides (getting old sucks
)
Haha I am just about to do the same. Once I barely started using reading glasses it seemed like my vision went in the trash overnight and now I can’t function without them. 48.1 month fine, 48.2 months and it was all over ![]()
Interesting because I have an iPad pro I watch while doing TR workouts. That would be annoying but certainly makes good sense. Dang…![]()
Sorry for the thread hijack ![]()
You’re doing it wrong…the solution is a larger TV / monitor to hook it up to. No glasses required. ![]()
So I need to swap my 40"/24" stacked screens for a 55"/40" setup then ![]()
better go 65" just to be safe.
Minimum…but feel free to “future proof” your set-up now. ![]()
Dang at that price, even with poor canadian exchange rates its still a deal… really wondering if i should get this as a second fan (and i also have a $15 amazon.com gift card ive been hanging on for a while)
EDIT) if it was free shipping to my usa address i’d pull the trigger
Haha put a race on that thing and I would probably be trying to lean through corners and take water hand-ups from a domestique! ![]()
