Deals / Sales / Discounts for Cycling "Stuff" (2018-2022)

Thanks for the info. I figured at that price if I hate it I’ll just sell it used for what I paid. I’ve been a Wahoo guy for a few years after divorcing Garmin, so was eager to try the newer Garmin units.

$12.99 for a 12 pack of Beta Fuel. If you use this link and don’t give me a thumbs up then you better buy some spare tubes to compensate for the bad karma…

$12.99! :fire:

So, this is not the “Plus” model, just the 1030 correct?

SiS has a 50% off sale on some gels thru tonight, only a few options but they are a good deal. Also a free 550ml bottle and free shipping with $50+ orders

Scored 59 gels for $51 shipped!

Correct. Just keep in mind many of the Edge 1030 Plus features have been ported to the Edge 1030 (specifically, though TrailForks is not, nor are the routing updates). Whereas new sensor integrations, activity profile transfers, and structured workout updates have been (and a few others I’m forgetting).

Thanks. I grabbed it and will give it a look. Hopefully it’s worth the low cost. I ended up getting it for around 200 due to my cashback bonus I was saving.

Looking forward to it being touch screen. I have the 530, but the buttons are kinda odd ( coming from the 500)

I appreciate all your videos too. I use you and your site as a frame of reference and refer many people to it.

If you decide to sell the 530 let me know. I finally lost my 520 so I’m looking for a replacement.

I’ll keep you posted. Thanks for the heads up.

Pretty solid prices on Garmin. I bought the Fenix 5 Sapphire last Black Friday for this price and love it.

Science on sport is 35% off + 10% today. I think it’s 35 for the giro and then 10 because Ineos won. But anyway 45% off is pretty good.

Thanks. Those are great prices for the Fenix 5x. I thought about getting it, but I’m a little put off by the weight of it. 96 grams. That is 2x what my 935 is. Does anyone have both the fenix 5 series and the 935/945?

I am afraid I won’t like the weight when working out…although I guess I could just use the 935 for workouts and fenix for work…

I had the 935 for a few years and currently have the F6X for a year now. I have only taken my watches off to charge and nothing else.

The weight is noticeable the first week but after that it feels like second skin like my 935 did.

Anyone aware of good deals on shoes? Looking to buy ASAP I shrunk my current ones in the dryer :grimacing:

Running or cycling? Trying to imagine how loud that would be with the hard bottom on the cycling shoe. I usually take out the insole of my shoes (running) and wash them separate and then air dry them both. I also usually the buy the previous model of whatever is new. I have been doing Brooks Glycerin for a while. Sometimes running stores have great sales too.

Cycling… In South Florida’s tropical weather when it can rain everyday and the humidity will not allow for air drying I googled once a trick about how to put your shoes in the dryer. I’ll let you in, basically you hang them from a wire or hanger and shut the door, that way they’re just hanging inside and not tumbling. Unfortunately most cycling shoes are made out of that plastic feeling material outside and sure enough I ran them too long in the dryer to the point where they’re too painful to wear. Needless to say a very expensive lesson.

Just as a statement of warning: Do not try that with cycling shoes. No matter how long or short. Just take the insoles out and shove some newspaper inside the shoes to soak up moisture and change it when necessary.

You could get some wooden shoe expanders and slowly stretch them back with some heat from a heat gun or hairdryer

I live in central FL. Not much better here either. But the solution for me is having my running shoes inside the house. They are always dry the next day (or at least dry enough)

I just use the same fan that I use for the trainer. Place shoes in front of fan and wait until morning, bone dry every time.

I realize this doesn’t help you now, but there are always super good deals the week before Black Friday. Got my Giro’s 50% off a couple years back.
