Custom plan seems wrong

I created a custom plan (starts Feb 23) with a race event on March 30th. The plan feels a bit wonky. There is the start of a specialty phase 1 week before the event. There is a 1.5 hr endurance ride the day before the event. There does not appear to be a taper. Then immediately after the event, there is nothing on the calendar for an entire week followed by a week of recovery. Both the lead up to the event and the two weeks after the event just feel “buggy.”

I can’t find a way to make a “custom” plan for 5 weeks. I think ideally, I’d like to load for the next 3 weeks and taper for 2 weeks. Is there any way to do this?

I believe that this is an edge case bug of sorts that pops up when athletes have A races on Mondays.

The vast majority of A races happen on the weekend, and the way things are built makes it tricky to get a recovery week scheduled to start on the Wednesday after a Monday race. Once your race is over, you should be able to load up the recovery workouts from the following week or use TrainNow to generate recovery workouts.

That week prior to your A race should adapt to a taper week next week when it enters your AI Window, so keep an eye on that and let me know if that doesn’t happen.

This is something we’re aware of and that we want to fix in the future.
