Adaptations Suggestions don't seem consistent 🤔

After base I and II with a slight FTP adjustment (+1.2%) between b1 and b2, at the end of my recovery week yesterday I got some unexpected update plan suggestions. So far I’ve done exactly what prescribed although from the start I’ve set a larger endurance group ride on every sunday than what was on the original plan.

Adptations sugested: a part from two days decreasing the level of the prescribed WO On the 21st and 28th december all the other suggestions are to increase the hardness/level of the workouts for those days.

The increase isnt by itself weird to me but having 2 WO decresing a bit and almost every other WO increasing specialy those that go up around or over 1.0 is what concerns me. Thoughts on this?

Hey there,

It looks like these adaptations are for your future workouts – they may still be subject to change as you work through your plan. They should all update according to your current Progression Levels moving forward.

In other words, I wouldn’t worry too much about them right now. :slight_smile:

If things still look off as you get closer to those workouts, please do let us know!

Well surprised again after only 1 WO done yesterday after all those adaptations mentioned above today got two more adpatations. One for the 24th (maybe a christmas present from TR) :grin: and the other for new years eve. (New year :gift:?). Both making some significant increase in hardness/level.
The second one for the 31st had already been adapted before but this second adapation for that day is surely due to the adaptation on the 24th prescribing the exact same WO that was sheduled for the 31st.

I accepted both.:muscle::mountain_biking_man::+1:

After todays 45’ endurance ride yet another adaptation

Maybe its a consequency of doing this one today

Garin today was set by the first adaptation so doing it made the AI give me an alternate for january 15th (cabell) and an alternate for Cabell on the 29th that now has Carter schedule. This last changes seem more like a strategy to do not repeat workouts than real adaptations caused by performance on the workouts done before the suggestions. :thinking:

An analogy I like for adaptations is a plane coming in to land. As you watch the plane in the distance, the pilot might respond to small changes in wind or airspeed by pitching up or down. They might adjust in one direction, then move back in the other, gradually settling on a final position just before touchdown.

This is what Adaptive Training is doing as you get closer to these workouts. A week or more in advance, it’s entirely normal for it to make some workouts a little harder, some a little easier, and some small changes somewhere in between, with more finalized adaptations made for each workout when it’s time to actually train. Adaptations made for workouts weeks from now shouldn’t concern you too much—like the pilot adjusting pitch in the distance, they’re just initial adjustments made on the way to a final landing.
