Hi all,
Sorry if this has been asked before but I’m wondering if I should start a new plan for next year like I’ve done in the past or carry my existing plan over into next season? Typically I end my plan in ~Oct and start a new one in ~Nov after a few weeks off. Will the training plan automatically reset to base/build? What are the trade-offs in continuing vs. starting new? Thanks

Hey @DR3W5K13
No tradeoffs. If you start a new plan, then the system won’t reset everything to zero.
Rather, the plan will be created based on your training history and in accordance with when your A Event occurs. So, depending on when your A Event lands, we’ll create a training plan leading up to it, no matter if you extend or start a new plan.
Personally, if you are thinking of taking time off, I would create a new plan when you come back to training!
It’s important to note that the Base>>Build>>Specialty Phases will be scheduled in accordance with the timeframe of your plan. Going back to Base is not a bad thing
. More often than not, athletes go back to the Base Phase in the offseason to build a stronger engine. A stronger base supports higher fitness gains in the Build>>Specialty Phase.
Thanks for your response!
I have no issues with going back to base or taking the time off, I do both every season. But, just to confirm, there’s no value add to me extending my current plan by adding my races for next year and just scheduling time off within the plan? Thanks again!
