Fit file download was always tricky (option not available on mobile or on small screen resolution (?)). Maybe rethink that and rework fit file download for each ride and maybe bulk download from the calendar.
- Colour coding by activity type, so I can distinguish runs, swims, indoor rides, outdoor rides, etc. at a glance
- ‘Condensed view’, which hides the stats, maps, workout profiles, etc. and just shows the activity name, so that when I have multiple activities on a day the week doesn’t get too big to show on a single screen
- Adding multi-day events flow could be improved to give a clearer separation between the framework event page and the individual stage page, and to give you a way to save a stage and return to the framework event without being returned to the calendar and then having to reopen and edit it.
Yes! The ability to move weeks or chunks of weeks would be great. Then we could add a rest week in the middle of a plan (for those of us who need more recovery) or simply shift weeks due to vacation, etc.
Maybe color it green instead of blue so it’s easy to tell the difference
Not sure if its there already but a regularly recurring race series that is every thursday (or whichever) would be awesome , so I could just add all of track season at once without having to copy paste - and then go into each particular week and adjust as usual
Yes please for workout graph for outdoor workouts. Helps me plan my route accordingly.
+1 for Local Weather in the Calendar.
I’d actually like this in the post-ride details too so that if I’m looking at the data later on I can better understand the conditions that impacted the speed I was able to do.
Honestly, those are all splendid. And I don’t need any of them personally. All I need is TR to update Apple health/fitness!
Strava does so thus not a deal breaker but TR it would be awesome!
Whoop integration possibly ?
The functionality to add/import custom plans/blocks, say I’m using 3rd party run/swim.
Manipulation of workouts. Right click the week and have the option to delete/move/copy the week, right click the month, delete/move/copy the month, the year, the training block. (Doesn’t have to be right click, any shortcut option that provides that type of functionality.
Delete all future workouts - Say I’ve added a bunch of custom workouts but my goals change, it’s a pain to manually remove/replace those custom workouts.
Move/copy should include “selection to start on”/“selection to end on” dates so that if I want to repeat a block or week from last year I don’t have to scroll the whole calendar.
Maybe get rid of the TSS chart at the top?
The Training Stress page is better with the same information. On the calendar page, the TSS / history chart doesn’t scale in the Y axis so it looks squashed (~400 weekly TSS for me) and it doesn’t show events, FTP changes, or the training phase.
I know it shows ‘where you are’ in the calendar, but maybe there is a better way to do that. Alternatively, improve that small TSS chart. The example view on the Training Plans page is better. It is scaled vertically, the phases and event are marked.
edit: I know you can hide, but it still results in a lot of unused space up top.
Here’s my most radical suggestion for Calendar Feature: allow users to create custom plans where for each workout, the user just specifies:
- Duration
- Difficulty
- Zone
- Use TR workouts only, Custom workouts only, combination of both
And on the day the TrainNow engine selects a workout that meets the above criteria. Plus the ability to save and name plans.
I use Elevate which plugs into Strava, agree TR could have more analytics but at the moment Elevate fits that need and it’s free. If you’re a competitive cyclist I would assume you’re using Trainingpeaks or Chapeau or similar
You can do that already, you just need to delete your training plan. Still, this is not very discoverable and the UI ambiguous. I felt competent to check with support first. Not a sign this feature is easy to use.
Hey @OreoCookie thanks for the feedback, my general comments were focused on custom workout plans but in re-reading my post notice that is a little unclear. Clarified it a bit.
Ah, I see. In that case, I think you are right, the only way is to delete workouts manually, one at a time. Even in the former case, I’d say the functionality is hard to find and the dialog not good. I asked them to change it to “all future workouts will be deleted” or some such, but I don’t know if they have done that yet. (That should be a quick fix since you only change the text in a dialog box.)
One part of me thinks that TR should allow third-party calendar apps to change workouts. I’d like to use my preferred calendar apps for some of the manipulations (scheduling workouts at precise times, but times that depend on the day of the week, etc.). Writing a good calendar takes time and effort …
Either — Export/Synch TR calendar to Training Peaks (?). OR, add ability to plot/visualise forecasted progression (CTL, not progression levels) over time in TR calendar.
Please
One thing I have thought about, is the ability to turn off whether a workout is achievable, productive, stretch, etc on the workout/calandar. For me, I feel like my response to how a workout is labeled, strongly dictates how I respond to the post workout survey. I know I shouldn’t do this but an achievable workout is never more than moderate, even if I am barely hanging on.
Two things related on outdoor workouts.
- To have workout graph visible (same image as indoor workout)
- Better mechanism to map outdoor workout to ride. Daily commutes are always mapped to planned workout. When morning commute is cleared the workout jumps to afternoon commute. This happens even if commute is 15minutes and workout is e.g. 2 hours. (This mapping most likely happens outside of calendar GUI but still related)
