Are the Difficulty Levels gone? (Achievable, Productive, Stretch etc..)

People have been asking for “as completed” workout levels for a while. I would think they could just run the power file through the WL algorithm just like they do when you create a custom workout, but it must be more complicated than that.

I believe it was supposed to be one of the steps toward WLV2, but it hasn’t arrived yet. Hopefully soon!

Agree with this, but I also personally value having some idea what I’m getting myself into. As a shift worker with a variable schedule, I need to put my main workouts on whatever day that week I’ll be most rested for.

Knowing I was gonna be doing a “stretch” workout means I’d schedule it appropriately.

It also means I dont beat myself up when I didn’t sleep well before hand and suddenly find a workout that an AI thinks I can do to be so difficult I can’t finish.

Response from TR Support sounds fair to me. My understandings are: Progression levels are awarded not on the actual work done, but rather on whether a set of conditions is met on the given workout. Also my understanding (though I haven’t tested this): Turning the workout difficulty down on the workout player (beyond a certain threshold) is a failure condition, even if you exceed the revised target.
The recognition you’re asking for in the form of your Progression Levels, as @patrickhill said, has not been able to be delivered yet. As mentioned on one of the podcasts it’s unfortunately proven to be difficult to get across the line.

Also important to note is that FTP detection & workout recommendations use a different system from the Progression Level system that is exposed to us.

As I’ve not been paying attention for a while, does anyone have a direct link to one of the hints, eg. a Youtube timestamp URL if this is from the podcast, etc? Thanks.

He’s not really given away anything at all - just that something is coming and that he couldn’t show his calender :man_shrugging:t2:

When I fail or superpass a workout, I go into the workout creator and modify the workout to match what I actually did. Takes only a few minutes. Then the modified workout displays an updated workout level, so I know my relative performance.

I’m having trouble thinking of why this would be difficult to automate for TR users?

Be careful here. Workout Level scoring for custom workouts isn’t very accurate. :face_with_peeking_eye:

Given that TR knows Workout Levels aren’t accurate for customer workouts, why doesn’t TR disable the scoring and treat custom workouts like outside “free” rides?
