Aero benefits of shaving gooch hair?

My body hair trimmer comes with different length guards, 1-5 mm. Where is the point of diminishing returns? Is a clean shave with a razor the best idea?

I’m not sure the word gooch means what you think it means…or April fools?

Is that how she calls it?

Assuming your gooch is covered, I don’t think you need to shave it clean.

you won’t know the limits until you try. data would be helpful. be sure to document and report back

Ex GF requested I kept it shaved, it was worth it. I also rode bicycles. I was also at my peak fitness back then. Coincidence? N=1

By coincidence, were you referring to “Ex GF” and “I was also at my peak fitness”?

(apologies if that was too soon)

Yes you do get faster by losing .00000006 of a pound therefore your watts/kilogram get a nice boost

No aero benefits but aero isn’t everything

Aero isn’t only for the bike :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Doesn’t it make your top tube look longer?

When Specialized’s Win Tunnel team announced that shaving your legs would save you 82 seconds over 40km, I’m pretty sure they didn’t mean your third leg.

Don’t forget to apply molten speed wax.

This post makes me smile. Maybe its a friction not an aero thing?

On a side note I call my chamois cream my “Gooch Cream”, and can be heard every now and then yelling to my wife when she is on amazon “can you get me another tub of Gooch Cream please” To which the response is yelled back “do you want Muck Off again?”

Can only imagine what the neighbours think if they hear us.
