Ditto, my mate got out bizarrely in January, roads were lovely and dry that day and almost zero wind. Its been shoot since though. I might take my bike out the week before thr F15/10 at the end of the month
You didnāt fancy the Ely Hardriders then?
I would have started with WSW in March, but itās a bit busy with family stuff.
A10/19 is my local course
Nah, if for some unlikely event Iād got a last minute urge it would have been on the road bike.
Rear zipp 900 on a trinity needs a new tub.
Obvious answer is Corsa speed (to match the front), but what dimensions - 23? 25?
Makes little difference aerodynamically on the rear, so look to the likely road surface. 25mm is better on less perfect roads, so Iād go with that.
Ive entered my first TT of the season for a ride at the end of the month. I still havent ridden the TT bike outdoors this year or topped up itās tubeless disk (I need to order a new syringe for that and hope I have some of the normal Stans, not race left as I canāt be bothered unseating and reseating the tyre. I also feel I would need to up my equipment firepower to better the last couple of years as I have no real mojo at the present however.
The E33 course surface is okā¦let me guessā¦Bottisham ā¦havenāt been on the TT bike this year - still in the workshop of my v kind friend who is a retired mechanic - riding some road bike TT at the moment - will need it for KLCC25 on the B25/33
Not sure if 25c will fit in the rear of a 2018 trinityā¦
I think youāll be ok, according to this dealer it comes with 25mm tyres. Nice bike btw
I did it on my gravel bike last year (with 32 mm road tyres). 60 minute power PB, but it was slow as hell!
Got it! I got into TTs when we moved out of Cambridge. āWhat are all those cyclists doing, and why are they wearing numbers?ā.
The E33/10 is my favourite course, itās a pity no one uses it for open events, but between the Newmarket and Cambridge clubs there are plenty of races midweek. I can get a race in and only be out of the house for an hour! I got under 21 minutes last year, a short 20 might be on the cards this year, but I think a 19 is in dreamland.
I train a lot on the circuit used for the 25. The surface on the stretch down to Six Mile
Bottom is pretty poor, and Iām sure thatās worse now after this winter.
Iāve only raced last seasonās Leo 30 round there. I think it uses part of the E33. If it the up and down section of road I am thinking about thatās an excellent time Ive only ever managed a 22.33 on the relatively flat drag strip F2A/10
The 25 is two laps of the course used for the Leo 30 ( which is on the same course this year I think).
The 10 is an out and back on the section between the horse roundabout and Bottisham. Itās the faster leg, but you have to go up and over the A14/A11.
I like the F2 (particularly the 50 on a Sunday morning), but had a horrible experience marshalling at Caxton Gibbet last year. Traffic was incredibly high, and I had a few drivers stop to have words with me
Fair point - although the other 2 legs have a decent surface and 2/3 of a course pothole free is pretty good for the current state of UK roads. Especially as I have the choice when they are open of the Isleham road or the Littleport Mildenhall road for my commute! ā¦F2/50 and the F2A/25 are the 2 best drag strips around - E2/25 will be back this year but I think I will bottle it - have done it a few timesā¦donāt think itās safe anymore.
Just figured out who you are
I wonāt ride the E2 anymore. Iāve been down that road with the kids in the car on a Saturday afternoon! I did ride it once last year, at 8 pm on a Wednesday with virtually no traffic!
I was thinking to have a go at the SPOCO SE this year, but thatās going to involve a lot of early morning drives into Essex.
What is the opinion around here about full forearm support extensions (Ascalon, Anemoi, etc) vs a elbow pad + round extension setup? Has it tested faster, and by how much approximately? Or is it mainly to improve comfort? Would love to hear some opinions on this
Extension platform itself is minimal to no watt difference, but is more comfortable. Most aptly it allows for various position changes up to the UCI limits ā flexibility in positioning can make them valuable if you put in the time for testing. Adjustable tilt blocks with standard pads and extensions can do the sameā¦but donāt look as good
8 April i will ride a 42km TT (my second TT in my career). My first TT was about 21km. This will be about 65minutes. Do you think i need drink with me, or when i hydratate enough before there is no need to drink?
It will depend on the climate you are racing in.
In the UK most riders donāt bother with a bottle for 25 mile TTs but it is rarely that warm especially for those with 6am starts.
