Sync your TrainerRoad workouts to your favorite fitness networks with Ride Sync.
Athletes have long requested a way to sync your TrainerRoad workouts with other fitness platforms like Strava and TrainingPeaks. Now, it’s finally here.
With Ride Sync, TrainerRoad integrates with your year-round training data easier than ever. Keep more accurate riding profiles through Strava and TrainingPeaks while securing all your workout data in one place through Dropbox.
Ride Sync works with the following platforms:
You can sync your TrainerRoad workouts in one of two ways. The first (and easiest) way to get rolling with Ride Sync is to enable automatic syncing so you’ll never have to worry about remembering to sync your workouts after a ride. Here’s how:
- Log into your TrainerRoad account online to access your Account Profile page.
- Select “Ride Sync” from the menu on the left-hand side of the screen.
- Click the “Connect With ______” button for any of the services on that page.
Or, pick and choose to manually sync individual rides if you prefer. Here’s how you do it:
- Log into your TrainerRoad account online and select the workout you’d like to sync with another service.
- Select the icon of the service you’d like to sync the ride with from the “Sync” list on the right-hand side of the page.
- You’ll be prompted to enter your login credentials if it’s your first time using Ride Sync.

Garmin Connect, please? I’ve been downloading my TR workouts and uploading the file to Connect for months. Having that done for me would be awesome.
Garmin Connect is next! No ETA right now, but it’s coming 🙂
One year on No Garmin connect upload?
Hi Richard,
Sorry for the delay here! We’ve actually hit a bit of a roadblock…
Unfortunately, Garmin doesn’t have an official API for us to automatically push rides to Garmin Connect. 🙁
They do have an API to receive workouts from Garmin Connect, but no way to send them in. DC rainmaker has written about some apps that have created workarounds for this have ended up getting blocked by Garmin. So until we get cleared by Garmin, this is still on the back burner. Sorry man!
Any update on this? Would make sense for garmin to allow the same functions as strava and trainingpeaks if they want to keep up.
yet another year and no garmin connect?
Scott, you’re going to have to manually upload your workouts to Garmin Connect. At this time, we aren’t going to be creating automatic upload functionality for Garmin Connect.
Sorry for the inconvenience! Happy training, and ride hard!
That’s an astute answer to a tricky qusoiten
Thanks so much for this!
Been waiting for this for ages, keep up the good work.
This is a great addition but do you have plans to sync to Garmin Connect?
Yes we do Alan 🙂
Great work guys. How long does auto-sync typically take to sync? E.g. Between completing workout & it appearing in Strava or Dropbox? Thanks.
Hey Rich,
It should sync nearly immediately after the workout is published to TrainerRoad. I just synced a ride and it was instantaneous 🙂
Awesome! Thanks guys… big time saver.
Garmin Connect would help me, too!
Any plans to sync with SportTracks?
+1 for Garmin Connect
Keep up the great work !
A status update for AUTO upload to Garmin Connect:
As of right now, Garmin doesn’t have an official API for us to automatically push rides to Garmin Connect. 🙁
You can do this individually by downloading the .tcx file then manually uploading it like that. But In order to push workouts to GC automatically, they’ll need to clear this. We’re on the back burner until that happens.
It’s been said that there are some apps working as workarounds for this, but DC rainmaker has written that many that are “high volume” have gotten blocked. We figure we’d fall into that category of being high volume.
Sorry for the delay everyone! We’ll be sure to keep everyone up-to-speed as any changes come about. 🙂
Attention to all of our Garmin Connect friends!
We might have some news coming out about automatic uploads to Garmin Connect in the next day or so… 😉
Hi Guys,
Do you have a way to sync rides done outdoors with Garmin Connect to Trainerroad. I replicate Trainerroad sessions outside but would like to keep my plan up to date and accurate rather than just assigning the road as”outdoor”
Thanks
B
Ben, we’re currently working on a feature as we speak that will allow you to bring in your outdoor workout data into TrainerRoad to have a full picture of your training stress and progress.
Thanks for your patience! 🙂
hi guys, for some reason my Strava wont auto sync, i have to go into my ride and click on the Strava icon to sync it.
I think this was because when i first set this up it asked if i wanted it to auto sync and i said No. How can i enable this again to auto upload to strava?
thanks
Hey Thomas!
You should be able to enable auto-sync by clicking the following link 🙂
https://www.trainerroad.com/profile/sync
If you have any issues getting things up and running from that link, go ahead and open a support ticket at support@trainerroad.com? They will be able to look into your account and see what is going on.
Cheers!
Is or will there be a way to push my workouts into my Wahoo ELEMNT? So far it looks like I need to purchase SportTracks for that. Thanks
Hey Mark!
This is not something that we are working on at this time, but it is not out of the question for future development 🙂
Cheers,
what about Suunto movescount?
Tnx
A.
We do not directly export to Suunto Movescount, however, we do sync to Strava, and Strava is able to sync to the Suunto App. Therefore, you can use Strava as a “middleman” to make sure all your rides end up on all the right platforms 🙂
