every night before he goes to sleep, Nate reaches out and tenderly touches a picture of Chad and smiles softly
Say no more
āIām a billionaire. Peace out!ā - Nate. jk
Theyāll all show up to the podcast with orange spray tans.
I see two major business/product opportunities with the Z acquisition of TR:
-
[The obvious, and initial offering] Adding TR AT to the Z offering (i.e. the Survey discussion). Potentially lots of introductory and intermediate level Z riders and racers may be interested in such an offering. Of course, they will have to figure out pricing*
-
Exactly to your point about Z having [a lot of] faster riders [than TR]. As discussed here on the Forum, TR (i.e. Nate) is not targeting self-coach and externally coached athletes (e.g. WC 2.0, advanced metrics, etc). However, I think Z and Eric, specifically, recognize this opportunity. It wouldnāt be using AT on top of Coach Chadās plans. But it is easy to imagine an enhanced version of AT on top of more common TiZ plans.
*Pricing: Nateās request for pricing feedback (separate thread) seemed very odd at the time he asked, particularly as he understands product-market fit and did not address this in the thread. What I think [speculate] is taking place is that Eric knows that Nateās approach to pricing (i.e. grandfathering) doesnāt build volume businesses and that Nate agreed to test the waters on the TR customer base to see what the reaction would be to price adjustments (presumably to consistency across all users regardless of when they joined TR).
AND MORE??
Well if you convert M O R E to numbers you get 13 15 18 5
13 + 13 = 26
15 + 8 = 23
18 - 12 = 6
5 + 15 = 20
Convert all that back to letters you get
26 = Z
23 = W
6 = F
20 = T
ZWFT!!!
Well played sir, well played.
If someone can clevery make the numbers make sense instead of random math you get a gold star!
No vowelsā¦
Ladies and Gentlemenā¦it appears that Wahoo is buying out Zwift after Zwift buys out TR.
Live shot of @Gnome working that one outā¦
Thatās quite a stretch. Hope you didnāt pull a muscle.
A Strava / Trainerroad merger makes more sense to meā¦
Stravaās training tool is garbage. Trainerroadās subscriptions prob. ebb and flow in tandem w/ Strava premiumās membership. Both are tethered to outdoor performance vs. wa-topia la la land.
Go for it Private Equity! Make my dreams come true.

Re: podcast. Everyone should submit a question asking about the rumors, TR to address, etc.
Jon on the cast: āHmm, we didnāt get many podcast questions this week. Also looks like thereās not much for live questions todayā¦ā
It will be interesting to see how it is handled. Iām not sure if it will be totally ignored, regardless of the amount of questions or if there will be some type of vague statement that really tells us nothing. You can bet there have been meetings on the subject. Iām sure however that Jonathan wonāt lie.
Itās pretty simple, they will talk about if and when they are ready (if ever). No amount of pushing from us is worth responding to.
I get that people want answers, but this is one of those times we just have to wait on TR.
Meanwhile, we have this and the meme thread silliness to keep us occupied
If Coach Chad starts talking about muppets weāll definitely know that theyāre trying to distract from the Zwift speculation
I would guess that the number of TrainerRoad users that simultaneously use Zwift is pretty high, and those that use Zwift around TrainerRoad even higher. A tie in would therefore have positives for a lot of users. From my experience and that of most TrainerRoad users I know personally, the reality of training often looks a lot like this
There is so much stuff on screen that is driving me nuts.
