So now with the Zwift integration my scheduled workouts are pushed over to Zwift. Which is great and now I dont have to split bluetooth on the iPad and ANT for computer. The one thing I have noticed though is that when you do your workouts in zwift the FTP suggestions don’t come up anymore. Adapations happen after if you go into the app and what not but like after a block or period of time it won’t give you a suggested increase (or heaven forbid decrease cause you know I NEVER decrease).
I have noticed that I have to do a workout directly in TrainerRoad and after then it will give me hey new FTP suggestion.
What are others doing? Do you do similar and after couple weeks do once in app directly to trigger that, or what other forms are you doing to make sure you levels are where they should be at?
Doesn’t really matter because the workout pushed over uses your FTP from TrainerRoad.
You could always change it manually yourself in Zwift later.
Yeah the levels in Zwift doesn’t matter much it’s more seems like completion of a work out in TrainerRoad is what triggers the AI FTP calculation. so if you only do your TR workouts in Zwift it will never suggest a new FTP. I guess you need to just remember to manually hit the button in TR sometimes maybe?
The difference, I believe, is that the TR app uses their AI logic regularly to determine if it believes your FTP has changed, regardless of the workouts you’re doing. Whereas Zwift will only detect a new FTP if you actually exceed your current FTP for a significant enough length of time. (And I don’t think Zwift will ever suggest a lower FTP.)
That is, if you cruise along in TR at 95% of your FTP for 3 hours you might get a new FTP recommendation. But if you do the same in Zwift (even if doing a TR workout) you will not, because you didn’t exceed your current FTP.
