Nice guide @bobmac
Disaster banked! Saturday down here in Australia. On the bike at 5.15am, the weather is warm but a rainy night, so it made my decision to join in easier.
Numbers were pretty much spot on, 4.15 h, 263/264 TSS, 0.79 IF, 2683/2681 kJ, NP 203, Power 175, HR 126, Cadence 89.
No stops or coasting, 2 bananas, 2 Hammer bars, 3 Shotz gels and 5 bottles of electrolyte only with 2 Shots tablets per bottle.
I watched āIronmindā first, then whatever came up after, Lionel Sanders and Bob Babbitt interview at Canyon HQ and then Babbitt with Taylor Phinney. After this Spotify went on and Rammstein, Anthrax, Alice in Chains, Slipknot and The Cult got me through the second last set of sprint intervals to the finish.
There were stages at the end where I actually had goose bumps knowing that I wasnāt doing this alone! I was having fun.
I was having that much fun, that I had a run off the bike. (Triathlete OCD)
I challenge any other tri-geeks to run off as well.
Have fun and enjoy DISASTER!
Wes.
Chapeau!
i think my follow up ride tomorrow will be a super easy slow one ⦠outside
Great work!
Ok, I have tentatively scheduled Disaster -2 for Dec 29; plan had me doing Hesperus at the end of week 3 of TB3.
Iāve had the song āBeautiful Disasterā by 311 in my head all day thinking about tomorrow. Iām a bit sore from todayās run, but Iām going to try and get through it. Next week will definitely be a recovery week.
Yes, just an extension of your surname.
Iāll be joining you wackos tomorrow. Looking forward embracing the suck with all of you. @mcneese.chad I hadnāt been watching this thread and didnāt realize we were recording whoās going when. Put me down for 10am PsT, also know as 1800 GMT. Letās goooooo!
Disaster completed here in the West of Ireland. Took a coffee break before the threshold intervals and then struggled a little with those as my trainer kept reverting back to ERG mode which frankly just doesnāt work for me with short high power intervals. Otherwise what a great way to spend the morning on a wet and windy day. Well done everyone!!!

Right On!
And done. The sweet spot/ sprint combo was a killer. Most proud of the fact I didnāt bail when my device crashed to be honest, as everything else was just nuts!
Iāve moved my Disaster-ing to tomorrow. I want to see how many of you people survive first!
So far weāve got a pretty good run going. Only one or two early finishes and just because of a time constraint.
I finished Disaster -2 this morning and was my longest ever ride on the trainer. i actually quite enjoyed it but wish i went for the 3/4 version as i could of carried on. Good luck to all who have yet to start today.
Nice one! Congrats!
Thereās always next year.
Disaster in the books! Now what?
Imperial IPA

Perfect Timing!
