Workout won't sync to Strava

I recently completed a workout and for the first time ever, it will not sync. It says “Processing” in the workout details on the TR web application. It has been stuck in that state for at least the last 40 minutes. Elsewhere I have read that turning activity sync off and then on again may fix the issue. I turned it off first, and looked at the activity and it still said “Processing” even though sync was off. I turned it on again and it continues to say “Processing.” How can I get this activity to sync?

I emailed Support on this issue this morning - it’s on the Strava side and they’re working on it. I believe rides will load through once Strava fixes the issue.

It seems strava is having some kind of outage.

Wow. Ok. Good to know that it’s not just me…

Sorry for the trouble y’all!

We’re working on re-pushing the activities that failed to sync, but there are quite a few, so it may take a little while to get caught up.

I’ll communicate any updates I hear through this thread when I can. :handshake:

Workout doesn’t count if it’s not on Strava. Going to have to do it again. :weary:

[Kidding… I know it’s annoying to have something missing in the training log.]

totally, it not on strava, it did not happen.

Sorry :grinning: :grinning: :grinning:

It’s happening to other apps too. My Garmin run this morning didn’t show up either. Definitely not a TR issue.

yep, did a ride yesterday and it took a while to sync. All my mattes as well.

Intervals also have a message that Strava is having sync issues.

So what happens when that workout doesn’t show on Strava? Do you just keep riding indefinitely?

Looks like I have an ∞ x 15’ threshold workout to do today :grimacing::grimacing::grimacing:

This is happening since strava problems 16th Aug 24

Any news - anyone?

I had an outdoor ride a several days ago that didn’t upload from my wahoo bolt, and the app wouldn’t either. https://status.strava.com/ showed they were having problems with something or another. I tried re-syncing the next day and it went fine, but I had to manually trigger the sync.

If waiting and retrying doesn’t work consider revoking the app authorization to strava and re-authorizing it. Every couple of years it seems like I have to redo this, but not sure what causes it.

Working now - thx

@HuwThomas @gcarver I bumped this conversation over to the main thread about this issue.

As you can see, there was an issue with Strava that was blocking our activities from syncing over. We had to queue all of those activities up to be re-pushed over, but everything should be finished now. :smiling_face_with_tear:

Just as a heads-up, I wouldn’t re-authorize the app in this situation as that might change what we see on the backend in terms of what workouts need to be re-pushed. If you’re having other issues reach out to support and we can take a look and advise some troubleshooting tips! :technologist:
