When to detect FTP - at the start or end of a recovery week?

Hi all,

I started a new training block 3 weeks ago. So, I’m one workout away from the start of a recovery week. As it turns out, today is the day I could auto-detect my FTP.

Here’s my question: Does it make a difference at all if I auto-detect my FTP at the start of the recovery week versus the end of the recovery week? I’m guessing it makes no difference but if you have insight, I’d love to know.

Logically, under the new AI model, detecting after recovery week should yield a better “score” because your fatigue levels drop and your HR at each power level should lower as well.

Practically, the AI model should adjust your workout intensity as you begin your next block, so it doesn’t really matter except maybe the very first workout of the next phase.
