“Intervals.icu gets completed activities from Garmin Connect, Strava, and TrainerRoad (by way of Dropbox).” you can use RunGap instead of Dropbox. Then, from RunGap, sync them into Apple Health. Same thing for Zwift. I don’t see why chance if it’s working though, was wandering it could decrease the number of connections.
It would be nice to have a database of workouts where we could correct the files (like you can in GC, Intervals, or TP) but update the edited files across the other systems. I started experimenting with Intervals thinking in doing this from there, but when you alter an old workout nor does RunGap or any other workout system does that.
Please be aware that Fake Garmin Device in RunGap uses TACX app (rather than e.g. a Garmin Edge), so your outdoor activities will have device “TacX Training app” and accordingly Garmin will generate ton of achievements for indoor rides
Is RunGap a viable method to get eg. a Wahoo recorded ride into Garmin Connect?
And if so, is the functionality manual & device-based or automatic & server-based? ie. once configured using my iPad (my sole iOS device), when I then switch my iPad off for the next few months, does the sync continue to work, or does it rely on device-side iOS stuff happening each time?
You can sync Wahoo and Garmin with RunGap, and both are multidirectional — meaning they can send and receive workouts from one another (or from other sources).
It is device-based, but you can configure RunGap to be automatic. It syncs and shares using some heuristics (battery level, Wi-Fi connection—the documentation doesn’t explain this very clearly).
Thus, the sync won’t happen if your iPad is switched off.
You can export a FIT file from the Form app and upload it manually to the Garmin Connect website, but I’m pretty sure it won’t affect training load, readiness, etc.
I don’t big brain stuff like this, kind of seems excessive to me.
I use my garmin for everything, I have workouts on TrainerRoad. Send the workouts to garmin, do the workout.
Look at it later if I want to on intervals or training peaks.
if I did more than last week I already know while doing the workout. Do more next week, I know I’m improving, PPP.
