What's happened to Nate and Jonathan?

Pretty sure it’s both, but I may be remembering Nate’s comments incorrectly. Rather than relying on forum member summaries, I’d suggest listening to Nate himself since he has touched on this specifically on more than one recent podcast (usually in the early intro and loose discussions).

I just get the feeling that all 3 (chad, nate, Jonathan) have lost their focus/interest in cycling and have moved on to other things. Hopefully this doesn’t mean a loss of focus in the TR system itself.

Thats strange. He must be making them all private then as his strava account says he hasn’t ridden since 2021.

That hes hiding all his strava rides??

Maybe. Is there a problem with that choice?

Not at all. Did i say there was?

Okay im out of here guys. My membership is about to expire and i wont be paying the extortionate costs to renew.

Not directly, but I don’t get why you are making this into something of an issue, apparently.

Wait for real?

Yes, for real. There can be a link between a person’s actual TR account and their forum account, but it is absolutely NOT a requirement. Anyone can make an account here regardless of TR service use or total lack there of. It has been that way from the very start of the forum

The only issue I have seen is that for those people who are active TR account and forum users (with those linked), and then decide to drop the TR service, they seem to need to make a new forum account. I don’t know the specifics but have seen that as the outcome for at least one user. It is more about the way the accounts (maybe related to the email?) that means they can’t access the original forum account after closing their TR service account. So they just need to create a new TR forum account, but they are welcome here like anyone else.

Other than that, there are no issues for anyone having forum access for free with no association to the official TR service.

I had no idea. The more you know.

Yeah, that free aspect of the forum (along with the podcast) are one of the repeated comments that some people mention in their willingness to pay for the TR service, even if they don’t use some or all of it.

That was to do with wanting data deleted maybe?

That’s funny. I just assumed you were joking with the question.

Which data… forum, TR service, something else?

To be honest, I have no idea beyond what I’ve mentioned. Ivy would know for sure if people are really interested in the nuts and bolts.

I was thinking maybe he was referring to the GDPR discussion we had a while back where people were asking TR to delete all traces of their existence when they cancelled their subscription.

OK, if so, I return to my “See Ivy” comment. I have handled a few specific forum items but nothing at that level.
