Tunemah today !
Somehow, having put my assiomas to charge, the right one was still flat ![]()
So, I did kaweah taking the power from the tacx only. And I don’t know if it was psychological, but it felt VERY hard.
Hence, i dropped down the intensity in Interval 2.
Nearly bailed out after interval 3, but managed to talk myself into completing it.
Was a couple of weeks into a new plan and into the base of that plan. Had a few weeks off to sort some stuff, started over again. Did an FTP today and was up 10w on my old one. Bonus!
My husband saved the day and was able to head to our LBS yesterday to pick up a seat collar for my bike after I broke it yesterday morning, then proceeded to further break it
I think he just knows that if I don’t do my scheduled ride I’m grumpy, heh!
Since I’m doing the KM FTP test tomorrow, I decided to take it easy today and just enjoy some sweat and focus more on my pedaling technique, because I can always use it. Seat post felt good, may be a millimeter or two too high, so I’ll fidget with that tonight. Clicking in and out constantly at 5:30 in the morning with a baby across a thin wall makes me nervous. The clicks are so loud and abrupt! So far she sleeps through everything, but I’m not about to test it further. I’m good.
Combined my Wednesday/Thursday workouts into one long, 40 mile outdoor workout. Mount Baldy +1 (4 x 10 min intervals @ 95-98% FTP) and added Bald Knob afterward (1 hour aerobic endurance @ 65-70%) FTP). Really like the outdoor workouts with the perfect early Fall weather here. Outdoor workouts don’t show visually as well on TR so Strava is better visual.
Finished off my second week on TR with Eclipse. Absolutely dying the last 10 minutes and HR is way upp there. A little disappointed about how hard that felt. I did Carson Wednesday and felt really good.
Power is all over the place as I get near my limit and before backpedaling for a few seconds.
Pettit - ridiculously low HR
My first workout after my usual end of block cold. At least it came at the start of recovery week instead of at the end I guess. I need to avoid my nephews for these weeks😅. Super low avgHR even for me, I’m hoping it’s a good sign😁.
Another Z2 with 1 min power to fill the WKO. Surprisingly 1 min PR (8 W/kg) as I have never trained anything resembling short power (what is clearly visible in my 5s power).

tell us how you really feel about under/overs
Brutal workout on my Kickr Core today.
Just had an FTP bump from 293 to 303 after about 5 days off of the bike, and this workout absolutely demolished me. Is this normal? I know this is supposed to be really hard but do other people have a hard time with workouts like bear?
I had to skip some of the sweet spot recoveries on the last 3 intervals but I got all but 1 of the Anaerobic efforts done. (Although the last 2 sets were at 97%)
First workout after a week in the Lake District (have to take my bike there one day😍)
Didn’t think I was ready for the scheduled Leconte, so opted for something a little more sedate!
This is my longest indoor zone 2 ride, and my first look at aerobic decoupling, if my calculation is correct it is 2.5%, I’m happy with that, I think? I’m hoping to build to a 3 hour zone 2 workout soon…I would find it impossible to do my long outdoor rides in zone 2…
I think I will rewind back a couple of weeks on my plan to get my rhythm back…
I ate plenty before this one after underfuelling last Saturday’s tempo. Didn’t drag too badly today!
Same for me, good work mate, I had failed Galena earlier back in SSB so completing this felt good
Test complete! Such a rewarding effort. I came in anticipating my FTP was about 205, so I set it there for the test. And guess what?! FTP at 205 now! Up from 201, so 4 watts.
The real winner was my pacing and really understanding what it feels to ride at FTP. I overpaced the last test and blew up at 21 minutes averaging 211 watts and feeling near death (took 95% of that number). This time I came in with more knowledge and understanding. Only the last few minutes were challenging. However, still not the same feeling of near death as a 20 minute or ramp test!
On to a threshold block after a mini 4-day vacation starting tomorrow! Knowing I averaged 205 watts for 35 minutes just gives me all the confidence in my future workouts.
