Day 2 of SSB HV1
First workout of SusPBā¦25 mins into Avalanche Spire when this happenedā¦
Sometimes I wonder if itās worth the hassleā¦
Maybe Iām just in a bad mood listening to all the bloody fireworks while my poor dog is cowering under the stairs. Or the prospect of having to do a full PC setup againā¦or the fact I havenāt lost an ounce in weeksā¦
Ha ha! I need some positivity⦠finishing that workout tomorrow at my new FTP might perk me up⦠better not bailš
Edit: just seen that Arcade Fire have a new singleā¦the evening is good
Antelope
Fatigue was setting in so took the interval break, started up fourth interval and cramps were starting in left calf along with a slowing of cadenceā¦know when to call it a day. Time to start taking the interval breaks more often now Iāve found a good level
Rest day tomorrow and just the Carson on Saturday, will take the two minute breaks, should be a nice spin.
Tonightās ride has not synced yet because I turned off the router to rule it out. Its definitely not the router. The three paired ANT+ items (Power meter, turbo and HRM) occasionally went to two after I did so although power would still read for a bit but when three paired was green again the power reading would drop out. ![]()
I then switched of the ERG but kept my head up rather than ttāing. It was still happening. ![]()
I live in the ground floor of 3 storey flat, the flat upstairs is empty and theres a wide corridor between me and the next ground floor flat. So I strongly doubt thereās significant interference from my neighbours. ![]()
Batteries are good on everything. The power meter did drop from 100% to 75% but that shouldnāt be the issue. I used a hard wired phone charger to charge the power meter last time, I have used it before but Iāll try a low power charge over usb and see if thatās the issue the next time. ![]()
It was all good before the charge ![]()
TR support says it could be that all devices (power meter, hrm and trainer) are connected by ant + and I should try the trainer on bluetooth.
Awwww! I hate when my computer does that to me!
You got this, @AndyBaggott!
Last time I did short power build and it kicked my butt. I will give sustained a shot, but it seems even scarier! Lol!
Thunderbolt @105% (mostly)
A friend swears by a 5 x 5 on / 1 off supra-threshold format at 105-108% of FTP as a great way to top off a training block, so I found this and gave it a try. All felt fine until midway through interval 3 where breathing and HR suddenly climbed to a new level. Of course now I think I could have got through the final interval at 105% too (or perhaps 103), but with only about 30 seconds of rational thinking time to make a decision after struggling to the end of interval 4, I went for prudence rather than valour.
Took me a long time to master drinking on rollers
Iām beginning to think that TR has broken my brain when it comes to things being hard, for the next 4 weeks I have a training peaks programme delivered by a UK national time trial champ who did my new bike fit, he described last nights work out as really challenging, I looked at it and thought NAH thatās not hard compared to some of the stuff that I do on TR.
And it wasnāt.
She must be Maryās little sister.
Well done.
Wednesday: Zwift Definitely Not the WTNC race. This was probably the longest race Iāve done, I could have paced it a little better early, but overall happy with how I did.

Yesterday: well deserved off day
Today: Frissell +1. Not too bad, 5x9 min at 95% FTP, a little heaviness in the legs in the last two intervals but nothing major and no need to bargain with myself to finish.
Ramp test.
FTP increased from 291 to 299. Iāve been targeting 300 by the end of the year so little a little frustrated to get so close but happy with the progress.
Bit of background - Started Trainerroad in October and just finished 4 weeks of SSBMV1. 299 FTP is an all time high for me so pleased about that.

Tunemah. At or above power targets but struggled to keep output consistent. Something to work on.
