Polar Bear +1 for me.
It was really tough. The suffering was exacerbated by my extra cold garage that isn’t insulated (-7 C outside). I find when it gets too cold, the sweat doesn’t dissipate so I get saturated in cold sweat - just makes the experience that much more miserable!
So happy with it, all things considered.
3x14min sweet spot for me today and I felt AMAZING!
Feeling in the swing of things again. Pedaling today felt off though. Sluggish and kinda sloppy, so I’m guessing fatigue is starting to creep in.
Yesterday I did leg work in the morning, and 60 minutes of sweet spot in the afternoon. Paying the price today!
The part of my brain that thinks it’s going to be fine gets laughed at quite hard by the rest of my brain.
Nothing too taxing again today. HR still a bit higher than I’d expect, so a couple more days of easy on the menu🙁
First ramp test of TR ever. Matched pretty well with what my Garmin has estimated. Also hit a new max HR of 185 (had previously only ever seen 182)

So after having a solid run up to Christmas I’ve had 3 weeks with virtually no training, due to Christmas itself and then getting sick. I’m not fully over the cold, it’s hit a lot of people at work hard. FTP drop by 21W. At least this will make the training a bit easier while I recover.
Erg mode disaster again spiking to 367W instead of 251…note to self: DO NOT DO OVER UNDERS IN ERG MODE!

Goddard last night. I like these kinds of workouts. You can really hammer the intervals without burying yourself in the process like with some harder VO2Max efforts.

Had to takeover my wife’s dog walking business for her, so did a whole lotta walking and jogging with dogs. (doubling my usual daily step count)
Then i had my first swim workout of the year (first one since …september?!)
