+14w is great work!
Back on it after riding outside a couple if times the past week. Re-did the plan builder as my 70.3 will be cancelled. More biking and running it is then which i definitely enjoy. ![]()
Hunter tonight, didn’t feel great but the long recovery periods were lengthy enough to get me through.
Missing the TR podcast today, but I hope the crew is home safe.
Avalanche Spire +1 for me today. Was pretty fun.
Did Tour of Watopia stage 3 with @gpl while letting TR control everything.
Bird -1 in last recovery week of FD base.

Boy, maintaining a tri plan without the swim workouts is so much easier!
I tried to get back into it after like a year or two and I’m just like… Well this is just useless. So I’ve played some crucible and that’s it. The 38 different story arcs have absolutely overwhelmed me. I don’t want to read an encyclopedia to figure out what to do next.
I hear ya there.
Got out for 70 min of ER on the road bike Wednesday and followed up today with Kaweah -1 4 x 10 Min work… Pushed the middle two efforts up over FTP.
Have been finding my TR workouts less than challenging lately and with the postponement of my B race next month I have had a FTP bump 265w. Now the the challenge is working at this new level with out going into a dark place. Found Mary Austin -1 to be a cracker and the final interval a gut buster but sort of finished it I am chuffed

Really had fun with this one ![]()

Threshold was really challenging but another one where you just have to keep the legs moving and tell yourself you can make it through the intervals.
A few things I’ll need to monitor for the next few workouts and weeks.
Cleaned up after all the rain and worked up a sweat. Walked to the grocery store to survey the damage. Listened to some old standbys:
“Up with sun, gone with the wind, she always said I was lazy, leaving my home, leaving my friends, running when things get to crazy, out to the road, out ‘neath the stars, feeling the breeze, passing the cars”

Julius Ceasar +3. Trainer cut out during those middle intervals but I completed them all on/above target. Pretty stoked as looking at this I didn’t think I’d be able to manage it…but often we surprise ourselves!
Back in action! I’ve been quiet on this thread just riding mtb and enjoying a few hikes but thought it was time I ramp tested. Up to 295
followed up with monitor+1
Any time I take a break, it always manages to suck me back in. Zavala’s dulcet tones are too magnetic I guess.
Oh, the frustration…
So, i tried to to Kaweah:
after that spike, coming out of nowhere in the first interval, power match didn’t seem to work.
I kept getting disconnections from the power meter, from the smart trainer, it was a right pain in the cones.
I pushed, despite being well under target no matter what i tried, until the first recovery period.
There, i tried everything, turn the power on the power meter on and off, do the same on the smart trainer, everything, to no avail.
Last ditch measure, kill the TR app and restart.
Oh wait, it won’t let me resume the workout…
Obviously, isolation for the last 10 days means my temper is already a bit frayed, so I took 5 mins to breathe, calm down, and ended up doing a Kaweah -2, because at that stage, I was already running out of time to get working, so couldn’t really restart from the beginning:
I’m glad I did, because the workout calmed me down, and the drills are getting much better.
Much smoother getting in and out of the saddle, and managing to hold position in the drops for the majority of the last interval.
Bring on next week, I will need the exertion after a weekend cloistered with 3 young children and a puppy!
