What workout did you do today? (2018/2019)

Thank Coach Chad! That was the original VO2max progression in SSB2. I just dug it up. :+1:t2:

Bashful +2; I’m somewhere in Sustained Power Build.

Despite tactical intensity reductions I’m still feeling a bit sick. Highest HR of the last 30 days :exploding_head:
Quality maintained though so FU VO2! Ha!

Second week of SSBLV 2 and I was greeted by first real VO2 workout. Of course I was afraid - ftp bump after 1 phase, tiredness after yesterday’s business trip, no fan and uncertainty what to expect. It turned about to be a gentle giant - one of the easiest workouts yet. Cognitively demanding but passed very fast thanks to that. The unders provide a lot of rest time. I do not know why it felt so easy - maybe I have discovered hidden fueling properties of fish, potatoes and sauer kraut (my dinner before workout)

Ebbetts today, felt ok, I think I have a problem with my Powertap P1 power meter so will replace with my old pedals and use the Hammer 3 to see how ERG mode works without the P1’s

Donner - felt better than I think it should. 2/4 before reeeesssst (and beer)

Just a 5k run for me today (41 rTSS)

Geiger! Felt great, had to jump off for a minute in the 3rd interval to refill baby’s plate (strawberries and bananas) and right back in to it. Antelope tomorrow

doing a 6 weeks of modified base, tested the legs today with a workout I’ve wanted to try for a while. I’ve found that only doing sweet spot work means that my vo2 power completely tanks, so decided to mix it in this time around. that 4th set was brutal and needed a back pedal in the final 90 secs!

Felt a bit tired all day after Geiger +1 last night and then not sleeping well. No problem though. Watched the Scotland match which caused me to get bogged down a little at the start of a few intervals if there was something happening in the game - big force needed to bring the cadence back up, possibly a good drill?

First attempt at Wright Peak (the goal I’ve been working toward for a few weeks) and it did not go as planned. The last 15 mins of that second interval was an average of 188 bpm, which is well above the 176-180 that I sit in for sweet spot intervals. My best guess is that it was warmer today than it has been the last few times I’ve done SS work, so I’m thinking heat was part of it. I also did VO2 intervals yesterday, so legs may have been a bit fatigued.

Ericsson tonight, only week 2 of SSB1 but was really happy with this, I had a few friends do the same ride today and their HR was dipping into threshold for a long time, I was able to stay in Tempo but also there was almost no drift between sets. I seem to really perform well in this zone. We’ll see how Sunday treats me with Leavitt+2 when I have to do 70 minutes of this power level with no breaks

Eclipse outdoors
Punctured after 30mins at 309w
Was feeling strong.
I was on the TT bike Zipp 808s Conti Supersonic tubulars

Yes and no. I can’t speak for other trainers, but my Neo 1st gen cadence is spot on w/my p2max cadence.

Perhaps give a look at one of the minus variants which include 30s-60s intermediate breaks in the 30min block. While that sounds insignificant, you might be surprised at how that releases the tension in your legs and helps you reset mentally and physically. Once you complete the minus variant, your confidence should be flying high and ready to crush the std version :facepunch:

Moved Sunday’s scheduled workout to midweek. I have a habit of cutting these sessions in favour of my Sunday spin and I’m sure I’ve been shooting myself in the foot doing so.

This was a great session and a real slap in the chops. All of the work was done above my FTP from a year ago, yet my heart rate remained just outside threshold. For me, this 100% proves that TR works and I’m progressing :+1:

Taylor - 2 last night. Find it more easy doing vo2 max than threshold. HR really goes up and down on this but never too much up while on threshold it gets really hard.

Last night for the 1st time experienced some power problems in the 1st set that almost made me give up. The app wasn’t connecting very stabled with the kikr core and in the 1st recovery had to disconnect the trainer and recconect it again. It worked better after that.

Dans - lazy day. Sometimes it’s nice to just spin the legs.

Such a good feel, congrats on your progress! :tada:

Geiger +1 again:

Bit of a slog, the gams are ready for a break, but felt pretty well settled in by the third interval. Even if my threshold doesn’t lift after this block, I’m at least getting some solid psychological training with these. (Also lower heart rate than last week!)

I think there is a typo in the title of this workout, feels like it should be Hurt +2
