Makes me faster … Makes me faster… Makes me faster…

That was one of the very hardest rides I have ever done. I am wrecked

Hello, thanks for the answers. Last spiroergometrics test I did on 15.1.2019… so I decided to use the result from the last ramp test 307W… ( 75 percent from last minute avg. power, it was 409W ) Before testing I was 3 weeks without any bicycle ( vacation ) to reset body and mind before the next half of the season. (Fork , rear suspension and broken carbon rim were in service…) I did during this period only runs, hiking, swims 3 to 5 times a week, with one high intensity sustained run session. So it was 3 to 10 hours of activities a week plus everyday beer/sangria/tintoverano/vine… So my FTP went down “normally”. Now I´m on speciality phase - Century MV plan - with aded some z1/2 rides with my wife.
Next ramp test is in 4 weeks, so I hope that my FTP will rise. I´ll update this post after it, so we will see.
Thank you, best regards.

We might be! I’m based in Warwick. A mate/colleague guides me around the Bredon area - he’s been riding there for decades. When we plan another after work sesh I’ll drop you a message :+1:t2:

Now that my new bike is finally here, I’ll be outside more often with the Royal Leamington Spa CC - they run some good XC sessions on Wednesday or Thursday evenings.

I blew up the +1 version (managed to do 4 out of 9 intervals), so - respect.

Not sure why, but those I can do all day long - but 3-min VO2 intervals just drill me into the ground.

There was spittle involved, I admit. I went to some dark, dark places on 7, 8 and 9.

Yeah, were definitely in the same area

RLSCC have some strong riders. I’ve gone up against a couple of them in the early season crits.

Mary Austin -1, good grief the pain!

25km lunchtime ride with colleagues - 3 in a paceline, just steady, brutal and painful. Felt just like one 40 min threshold workout. Short, thank god. Didn’t remember my own name by the end,

Striped +1 kicked my arse after a very long week at work.

2/3 done above target then OVER. Like a tour stage but without the mudslide.

First time trying this beast at new FTP. Final set was a killer

Back on the outdoor hill repeats! Mt. Ascutney was up this weekend, 3.58miles, 12% avg, 2200ft. Did 2 laps and feel pretty good about it, set 230 power PR’s, and feeling really confident about getting a sub 1:20 on Mt. Washington.

Early workout this morning before finishing some house projects and relaxing. Been really dreading this workout, figured no way could I hold close to FTP for an hour, and if anything the 30 second breaks will just mess up my rhythm and throw me off even more. no deals with the devil, or screaming at chad for devising such a horrible workout, just grit and mental toughness and made it through with a little left on the other side.

Lion Rock. Second time through short power build. Feels soooo much better this time. Have been eating better, making an effort to come into workouts more fresh. Crushed it…had enough in the tank to tolurn off erg mode on the last ramp up and get to 700 watts at the end.

Tray Mountain (3x20 at 90%) - was a bit unsure how this one would go, especially after having a hard week leading up to today, but the workout went quite well. It wasn’t easy but very manageable.

Such a good feeling nailing these workouts.

I’ve gotten a flat on the trainer once actually, I bought a really cheap 23mm ultrasport after it.

Baird +6 this morning. Felt good doing this, it was tough but I never felt out of control

Getting towards the end of my season with only one more targeted race and a couple more spare B or C events over the next 2-3 weeks.

Tons of surging (1.3 VI in a 2:45 road race is pretty high for me) and lots of climbing in this race - I was getting tailed off the group on the more significant climbs early in the race and then descending my way back onto the (ever shrinking) group. As the race went on I seemed to decay slower than most of the rest of the field and made the final selection over the last major climb.

Went for a long one at 1 KM to go and got caught by the remainder of the group around 300M, finished last in the front group for 4th place in the P12

@pcort Based on your best time up Ascutney, and knowing you had to keep something in the tank for the repeat, you are strongly in position to go sub-80 at Washington. The calculator says 1:16:34 for you. You are having a great year!

I will be racing Ascutney sight unseen on Saturday. Shooting to match your time from last weekend. Not sure how well that will go.
