Thank you for replying, and for mentioning Amber as well. I know this will not be enough for some, but I personally appreciate TR not just remaining silent on the topic when these people are seen by many as the face of the company.
Thanks for the reply, Nate. It makes good sense. She will definitely be missed for all her contributions to the TrainerRoad community. Best wishes to her and you all for whatever comes next for the podcast.
This statement I think is all the majority of us would expect from someone who was often on the podcast. It isnt our business why anyone leaves. I feel though it is worth acknowledging that an employee has left the company.
Ivy’s perspective on training (and the type of racing she does) does not really align with my world of non-uci gravel and xcm racing. But I still found her entertaining/interesting on the podcast. Nice to have a quirky free spirit in the mix to balance Jonathon’s more serious take on things. And I’m sure the cyclocross folks appreciated her insight.
It will be interesting to see if they bring in a new regular host to replace her. I like the guests they bring in from the lifetime grand prix (which very much aligns with my world), but I wish they would add a regular podcast host that regularly races these kind of events. With the explosion of gravel racing (especially in the US), it seems like a big gap not having an experienced voice on the podcast.
Speaking of former TR podcast folks, was just reading latest update on the Be a Good Wheel podcast from Amber, she mentioned ‘producer Maxine’, does Maxine still produce the TR podcast? I’m pretty sure I’ve heard Maxine mentioned as the producer in the past but maybe not recently.
Definitely there has been mention of “Producer Maxine” on AACC.
It’s been so long that I totally forgot about Amber’s podcast. Do you have any insight as to what has taken so long? It feels like her kickstarter was a year ago or more.
No insight but based on her instagram she has already recorded episodes just hasn’t launched any as far as I can tell. Guessing its still a side project for her rather than a full time thing but from the start she seemed to want it to be a high level podcast with proper equipment, paid guests, etc.
I wonder if its that necessary considering how much I enjoy the Bonk Bros and how they started off, they have improved with time, getting good mics etc but it seemed like a recorded Zoom/Teams meeting when they first got going and was still great.
This is a great idea, having a host that also competes in some of the same races we do and perhaps also uses TR. An age grouper and/or female age grouper would be great. They already have top professionals so while its fun to hear from them, it’s not quite as relatable.
I guess that the concern for some of us is that these valid people (mainly Chad in my opinion) left because they didn’t believe any more in the product they were selling and we’re buying. I’d like to know Chad’s sincere opinion on what TR has become.
AI detection told her to go Zwift? Seriously, she will be missed. Also, understand the company can’t always say anything other than she will be spending time with her family/bike.
