What do I do with my "off" leg during ILTs?

Where do people put their non-pedaling leg during a workout like Goddard? I’ve seen mentions of using a stool elsewhere, but this isn’t practical when you’re switching back and forth between legs every 30 seconds or so.

If your trainer has any type of mounts/extrusions (usually on non-direct drive trainers), you can simply move your foot back and rest it on there. Or just hold it back there in the air, it’s only 30 seconds…

I just let it dangle a bit back from the center of the bike, and clear of the spinning pedal.

I put a wee stool next to my bike to rest my foot on.

I used to try this method, but my pedal hit my calf bone several times ;(

Hi
I used to have a chair either side, not very easy to do.

I now put my foot on the Bottle cage, that seems to work for me.

I solve this problem by ignoring ILT drills.

Whats wrong with simply putting your leg out to the side? I’m doing these outside for 10 minutes and ~1 minute each side and then switching. It feels awkward at first but no special feats of strength to simply hold you leg out to the side like a kickstand.

I do these on rollers and just hold the non-working leg out to the side. Obviously don’t want to stick your foot in the rear wheel. Think of it as good core work to support the clipped out leg while working the other one!!
