Same here. I usually do at least one century but I had none in 2023, and no events. I don’t compete for the podium but love exploring new roads and doing events. I definitely need to fix to fix that in 2024!
Like @Cory.Rood, one of those trips Mauna Kea was actually up Mauna Kea.
Not a bad year for the back half of intern year and the first half of my second year of residency! Down about 50 total hours from last year and 20 days, but the first half of last year was spent basically doing nothing but riding.
My year, the goal for 2023 was to get at least 6h a week of riding every week and I achieved that. That meant an increase of 108 more hours on the bike this year, 1,838 more kms.
AI FTP says I went from 217 December 20th 2022 to 235 December 5th 2023 (next detection is Jan 2nd).
I’ve also put on a couple kgs this year however, so am stuck at 3.98 w/kg, whereas would be >4w/kg if my weight had stayed static.
Didn’t race XCO at all this year, best performances and worst performances were on the road, while I had the most fun racing gravel and CX where I was very much mediocre midpack without skill or age grouping.
Main goal for next year will be to continue to keep that 6 hours per week minimum but be more consistent in the gym with 1 to 2 resistance workouts per week.
My year 2023.
Unfortunately caught COVID over christmas, but managed to get to my magic 12k.
Pretty happy with my numbers for 2023.
Quite happy with my consistency; third year in the past four hitting my 10,000 mile goal (injury derailed the missed year).
Max ride isn’t really correct as that was a three day event that I recorded as a single data file. However, the 32 century rides is actually an undercount because of a few multi-day recordings.
New personal record in distance: +3k compared to last year. Besides the 100+ square I also reached my goal of 20k cluster but fell just short of my goal of having 40k total tiles.
