Made me want to go back to the velodrome - not been in years.
Surprised by the lack of responses here - people have been complaining recently that the podcast is very ‘same-y’ with the same guests and topics. This was a new guest and totally different, very interesting topic so I’d expect those same people to be praising Jonathan (and indeed Anders) for a great podcast! Very enjoyable

I completely agree with the other comments. This was a great podcast, really neat to hear about someone from another discipline, and it’s nice to see the track get some love. I sent Jonathan a DM inviting him to come ride at the Hellyer Velodrome, and should send this out to the general TR forum here too! If you’re in NorCal, Hellyer is a really friendly velodrome to try out - it’s 335m, with 23deg banking (so less steep and easier to learn to ride), and also just a super friendly community. They have rental bikes so you don’t need to start with your own bike, and beginner sessions every Saturday at 8am. There’s intro to racing this winter, too! They’re even allowing people who have done one beginner session to do the races in the afternoon (normally you need 3 beginner sessions to be able to do mass start racing…), but for these few races this winter you can make a day of it and try it out! The next one will be Saturday, 15 December 2025, and there are some other dates next year. Happy to answer any questions!!
It was great to hear Anders talking a little about the nuances associated with Team Pursuit, as it’s such a fascinating race. Lots of interesting decisions to make regarding the order and pull length etc.. Thanks for the conversation!!

I loved the episode. I race at the velodrome in my city and was happy hearing about track specific details.
I know TR doesn’t do race analysis anymore, but man it would be cool to have a couple of pov race analysis videos from the track.
Please make more track specific videos
