Triathlon Youtube Channel - American Pro in Girona

Hey All,

I’m a bit of a lurker here, but a few years ago I actually did an AMA in this forum and you guys seemed to like it. For some context, I’m an American pro triathlete living in Spain, also working a remote job. I’ve also started a youtube channel, because ADHD has absolutely NO LIMITS and my energy levels are wild. I’d love to get some of your feedback, and if you guys have some questions I’d be happy to do an AMA video.

I’ve been working on my overall production quality and it’s gotten a little bit better and I think the videos don’t suck that much, plus a ton of people always ask about where the content is from these pro athletes, and then tell us why we never get paid. Well, here’s your chance to watch my life from behind the scenes as I try to qualify for IMWC in Nice this year.

Last season I broke 8 hours in the IM at Barcelona where I also ran a 2:41 off the bike. I’ve also been slowly getting up into the top 10 range at European races, and learning how to race over here has been super cool.

Hope you guys enjoy the content, and if anybody has questions about what I’m doing or how I’m doing it I’m happy to connect. I may not be Sam Long level of results (yet), so nobody will watch my videos purely because I’m fast, but I think my story is really cool because I was actually working full time, while racing pro, managed to quit, move to europe, and now I’m basically living my dream life every day.

Cheers,
Ernie

Looks good. I’m in Girona this weekend for some riding. Recommend a coffee spot?

Sick! Hit up La Taverna… It’s a spot that isn’t super touristy, plus great prices and food. I’d recommend the bocadilla de tortilla con patata (sandwich with potato omelet). Carrer de la Premsa, 2, 17001 Girona

Awesome thanks :star_struck:

@Ernie_Mantell - just looping back to say thanks for the recommendation.

I went for the chicken burrito with fried potato slices and salad - it was excellent. :ok_hand:t2: :grinning:

Awesome!!! Glad you liked it!

I’ve been following this series too, and it’s super insightful. If anyone is looking to structure their training better, guide here has some solid tools for power-based cycling workouts and triathlon plans. It makes it easy to track progress and balance intensity without overdoing it. Having a structured plan helps avoid junk miles and keep things efficient, especially when balancing swimming and running alongside cycling.
