That’s fantastic news. Goodbye Zwift…

It is actually kinda funny because this makes TPV even more tempting, but with the upcoming Zwift / TR workout integration, I’m just gonna stick with Zwift….even though TPV would be free for me.

Just finished my 1st Erg workout synced directly from TP to TPvirtual. It worked perfectly. Plus the graphics are so much better than Zwifts graphics.

I use zwift for well attended races. Hopefully that will come with tpv.

Same - do we think Zwift saw the TP/indie merger coming?

I had the same thought….

Lagging hard for me with a frame rate per second between 5-10. When using my PC laptop it was 60+.

Im running it on the latest 4k apple tv and 4k tv. Running smooth and graphics are excellent

Probably worth looking at the settings and dialling some stuff down. ATV’s not exactly a gaming powerhouse, so the older model might be struggling. Seems like other versions are coping OK though :+1:

They’re already here - there were over 100 on the Tuesday race a few weeks back, 77 last week. Very competitive racing, harder than anything I’ve done on Zwift due to the rankings/physics/courses. Definitely loving it!

Looking forward to trying Trainingpeaks Virtual. Downloaded the Apple TV app for my Apple TV 4K latest version. Not sold on navigating the interface with the remote so far.

I got it to work today with the ATV app too. I need to read some of the links posted above to figure out how to customize things. There are many many many configurable options. The remote is way too sensitive. I’m having trouble clicking what I want. The HUD is wayyy too busy for me. I just want to see the simple stuff like target, actual power, hr, cadence, speed. Lots of unneeded information (for me). What are all those power fields? I also don’t understand their virtual gears thing and can’t seem to generate big watts no matter how many virtual gears I set or how much I adjust the wind/grade settings. There are a ton of routes to choose, but no profile description for them. How long are they? How much climbing?

I’m sure it’s all stuff I just need to learn, but out of the box it feels unnecessarily busy and complicated compared to Zwift. But…it’s free!

What’s this then?

Unlike Zwift, the HUD is almost totally customisable. Set what you want, where you want, turn off the rest. My setup (yes, that pacer’s due a break!):

This is my setup for all that. I had wind set higher but I got dropped in a big downhill tailwind spinning out 53:11 as there was no resistance! As the gears are set up here I’m usually in 53:15 for a straight chain line and virtual gear +1 or +2 on the flat

Wait…there are virtual “winds” in TPV?

That strikes me as……unnecessary. I hate headwinds in real life. I sure AF don’t want to deal with them virtually.

First off…THANK YOU. I very much appreciate you taking the time to help, and the screenshots are great! I love your HUD settings. I need to get mine there.

Thanks for sharing the route profile shot too. I hadn’t seen that it’s different when not doing a workout, so I need to figure out how to peep the routes and choose the one I want before I choose the workout. Here’s what it looks like from the workout screen.

Do a workout then, or set up an event/race with no headwind, as anyone can do currently on TPV. Or just turn wind feel off, same as you would if you thought hills were unnecessary on Zwift. They’re there to make exciting dynamic racing, and really achieve that IMO :+1:

Yeah that definitely sucks! I’ve always done it in the workflow choose route > choose workout, but if you’re starting from the workout tab I can see how that would be confusing. They’re working on everything though so I would imagine it’ll become clearer soon

Yes glad to the ATV for TP-V. But totally agree the remote is way too sensitive. It was just a game itself to select my TP account then entering my un/pw. Seriously struggled for about a minute or two. While its great to see so many menu customizations, as noted with the ATV remote, its way sensitive to navigate then select something.

It would be nice if there were just 2 to 3 customization modes, something like basic, intermediate and advanced for HUDs and even graphics and menus. I’m sure its nice to see some of the PC/Mac features imported to ATV, I just want a good standard selection to ride, don’t need to be fiddling about just to start.

I’m glad things are progressing and would love to TP-V version of a companion app to maybe help with menus and feature selections but also like Zwift, something to toggle some of the HUD items while riding.

If you have an iPhone there’s a remote control app for your ATV. It’s supposed to make controlling the ATV better.

Edit: Google Play store also shows a remote control app for the ATV
