Hey all, new here to the TR Forum. Thought I’d try my luck here for some training advice regarding my current plan.
I’ve currently selected my main goal event to be L’Etape du Tour in July. I’m in week 4/29.. I’ve been training and racing for around 6 years, but decided to make a big focus on this years Etape. I’ve done it twice 2017/2018 but after years of racing and training, I’m ready to take it on again.
My pre selected plan is all set on making me the best I can be for the main event, but I also start racing in March. Most years I’ve taken the racing training too my big cycling events and gotten by with no issues. Having the main focus on just this event, I’m wondering how this training style will effect my criterium racing.
Unsure whether to cancel my current Etape training plan and focus on more race specific training, or just keep with the etape plan and follow it and whatever happens in the racing, happens?
I have added all the races I want to attend prior to the main goal to the calendar, will TR adapt the plan to those races? Or will it still keep the training Etape focussed?
Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
