I’m new to cycling and have improved my FTP from 211 to 255 in 6 or 7 weeks. I have a history as an ultra trail runner but needed a physical break as training for these races can be quite taxing on the body. I recently found TR and am really enjoying structured indoor training. I am planning on returning to trail running this year and want to continue to incorporate cycling. I have a hilly trail ultra of 35 miles with around 10k feet of vert in November. Any suggestions on which training plan to use and how to incorporate structured cycling into running trail ultras? Thanks!
I try to stick to the low volume sweet spot plans, and only do 2 of the 3 bike workouts once I really start to ramp up the running mileage in prep for an ultra. I also try to do a short run after every time I ride.
One of the Triathlon plans, and skip the running (presuming you have you’re own plan already) and swimming?
