First of the year I started on plan builder for a spring gravel race, I failed a workout a couple weeks in due to fatigue (some related to previous workouts, some related to other intense physical activity). After the failed workout (VO2), it dropped my projected FTP by something like 15 watts looking out 3 weeks. That didn’t pass the smell test for me as I had plenty of remaining workouts left on my schedule, the drop was below my “current TR FTP” at the time. I opened a ticket with the TR folks and well, kinda got some reasons why from TR but not enough to give me confidence going forward ,so I bailed on plan builder and went to a polarized plan as I’ve had really good results with a polarized approach (using LT1 via “talk test” for my endurance rides vs TR power targets as I have my LT1 HR pretty dialed in). Initially TR scheduled one “Not Recommended” ride a week; I assumed these would change as I get closer to them, but they haven’t. I have one of them late this week. Anyone else experience this? I’m losing confidence in a product I once highly recommended to other riders.
Are those not recommended workouts pinned? It would be helpful if you made your calendar public or shared screenshots of the last 4 weeks and next 4 weeks from your calendar.
Sorry - even though I’m a long-term TR user I don’t know what “pinned” means. Also not understanding why my history or plan going forward matters. I would think the system would avoid planning “not recommended “workouts. That’s one of the main selling points of TR.
If you’re pinning your workouts, it can’t pick different ones. That’s why I asked. Sounds like it would be helpful to go read some of the release material so you have a better understanding of how things work now.
I think I know what’s going on here.
Let me dig in and see how I can help. ![]()
@kirkmw, can I share what I find with your account in this thread?
Sure thing. I just looked and the workout isnt pinned.
I believe that this is an issue with Polarized training phases.
Someone from the team is going to try to fix this today. ![]()
Appreciate it Eddie
This issue should be fixed now. You may have to reapply that training phase to your calendar for things to even out. Let me know if you need a hand with that. ![]()
Now that was fast service! ![]()
Like cancel the polarized plan and then add it back ?
I could use a hand @eddie please.
Take a look now @kirkmw ![]()
Appreciate it!
