Yeah there isn´t really anything the UCI can do about cases like this. It´s part of the beauty of cycling that it is on open roads. Sadly, occasionally it will lead to situations like this.

Also remember this is the first big event since France and much of Europe removed their covid rules, so the people will be extra exuberant

WTF another HUGE crash. This time a random rider crashed right in the middle

The GC just got scrambled big time. Ugh. Not the way for this to happen.
Need to see who made it past the crash. Looks like ISN’s very slim GC hopes are over, and guessing that Chris Froome is out.

Don think any GC rider was caught up. So maybe not a huge impact, other than of course injured domestiques and such
