Switch intervals.icu from Strava pull to Garmin pull? (Mainly because I want L/R power data)

I’ve always had i.icu pull my data in from Strava, as that’s where I had all my outdoor rides (garmin) and indoor rides (zwift, TR) together.

I’ve come to realise that Strava bins a lot of data though, for instance L/R power split. Coming back from an ACL injury this is suddenly an interesting metric for me. (Over the last month have seen it slowly improve from 40/60 to 42/58, getting there!)

So I’d like to pull my data “from the source”, and historically, rather than from Strava. But if I change that now, am I going to end up with hundreds of duplicated activities, and then have to tediously delete them all?

Additionally it seems there is no TR option - is the best I can do to set it to pull Strava but only for virtual rides? In theory my Neo also should be reporting L/R power data - no idea if TR holds onto that information or just bins it, but I do know if it goes via Strava, Strava certainly bins it.

Thank you!

You won’t have duplicates if you change the pull-source. You can set to get old data or just go on from today. For TR you can set up a dropbox that intervals.icu can pull the data from - it’s a workaround that needs 5-10min of your attention to set up. If you already have a dropbox account it’s even faster. hope that helps

all the best with your recovery

Pulling data from Trainerroad via Dropbox works well. The problem is rather, that also Trainerroad doesn’t store L/R data. For some time I ran my headunit in parallel and pulled both files into intervals.icu to have also L/R data and other useful data.

It wasn’t worth the hassle and I don’t want my headunit to be covered in sweat all the time.

So I’ve tried to re-jig everything so that I pull from source rather than a 3rd party. Intervals.icu now set up how I want it, great.

But I tried to do the same for TrainerRoad, removed its connection to Strava (fine), which deleted all Strava activities on it (again, fine), and connected it to Garmin to re-pull my outdoor history from there instead. I then went for a ride and it correctly imported that from Garmin. But 18hrs later it’s failed to import any of my history.

If any TR admins are reading this could you have a look/poke please!
