Hey TR hive mind, advice needed here! After having our second kid last Oct ‘20 (yay!) I took multiple weeks off from training (duh!). Then decided to start fresh with a low volume plan in Dec ‘20. I’m about to finish the specialty phase and it’s now spring… sooo… should I start over at base? Jump to build? Stay at speciality?? “But what are your goals!?” you cry out… Easy, I just wanna be fit and fast for all summer group rides. Wadayathink?
I would do either build or base. Which ever one you prefer/get along with. If you have not done base in a while (4 + months) then do that.

Back to Base or for something different and fun try a block of the HIT Maintenance plan under Specialty.

Try plan builder (with no events). Even if you don’t use proposed plan, it shows how to structure multiple concecutive phases. If I remember correctly, for less experienced riders it repeats all phases but for more experienced riders it cuts base phase slightly shorter and keeps build/specialty same.
