Recovery Weeks in half distance Triathlon Plan

They don’t look any different if you go to start a brand new plan either from what I can see?

The team is looking into this now, all. Thanks for your patience!

Just checking in to see if there’s been any update!

I can see that week 4 in the low volume Base phase of half distance triathlon the recovery TSS is now lower compared to when this thread was started…

Update! This was mentioned on the podcast, but here are the most recent Tri Plan changes that Chad, Jon, and the team have made:

  • We ran into issues where Adaptive Training was not maintaining recovery weeks as truly recuperative weeks. We made the necessary changes so that AT will make recovery weeks truly recuperative.
  • Complicating the above, some recovery weeks had brick workouts scheduled in them, and this, combined with the issue above, was causing unexpected increases in training load. Bricks have been removed from recovery weeks.
  • We reduced the intensity of some brick workouts so that AT would still accomplish the bike:run nature of a brick without accumulating too much fatigue.

For these changes to take effect, please delete and re-apply your Tri plan with the same initial start date. Thanks, all!

Additional update: The second recovery week in the Half Distance Tri Base Phase didn’t have the aforementioned changes applied to it, but it does now!
Sorry for the trouble, reminder to please delete and re-apply your Tri plan with the same initial start date to see those changes take place, and contact support@trainerroad.com if you need a hand. Thanks for your patience, all!
