Recommend me some TV series to watch

I think so, or I wouldn’t have recommended it. But I have quirky tastes, so YMMV

I agreed with you on Season 1, but asked specifically about Season 2

I responded with “I think so, or I wouldn’t have recommended it”. I like all of the episodes.

Sorry. Wasn’t trying to argue. Just trying to commiserate with someone who liked the same show I did and get some feedback. Didn’t mean for you to take it negatively.

Ive been watching comedies lately. Went thru Vice Principals and currently doing East Bound and Down. Lots of Danny McBride lol

No problem. I didn’t take your response negatively, sorry if mine came off short or snarky. I took yours as a follow up seeking clarification.

I really mad at Netflix for canceling what could turn into great SciFi series - e.g., the peripheral- after only 1 or 2 seasons. It really makes me hesitant to start watching any series that isn’t at least on season 3

Yes of course… the videos on FulGaz are obviously visual only. For audio, it’s some good music on interval days and podcasts on endurance sessions!

I really liked FulGaz when I was doing SS TiZ extensions for a while. Their UX is rubbish, but if you favourite all the consistent mountains, you can just pick one based on the time you have available.

I liked the variance of power, using the whole power level/zone. Much more realistic as it was often in response to little undulations. Once I set the virtual gradient to be like 50% both ways or something like that, I don’t recall.

I think I could get onboard with video-only just for a visual aid during a TR workout. Not the same, but defo an upgrade for longer intervals over blue platforms.

Blue Eye Samurai on Netflix is excellent, if you like that sort of thing

It’s been mentioned before, but I think everyone should watch Band of Brothers at some point. HBO 10 Episode Mini-series on WW2.

I’m watching “The Pacific” right now. It’s decent, but not at the same level.

Thanks for the Megavalanche suggestion. Great quality and incredible footage. WIll be perfect to pair with some good music.

Apple TV Shows:
Trying- Lighthearted with some serious moments. Bright and happy and triumphant visuals. One of my favorites.

Severance- Serious and can be pretty weird. Cliff hangers every episode so a good one to watch back to back. Visually somewhat dark.

The morning show- longer episodes. Classic drama. Good to watch back to back.

Defending jacob- intense and stressful at times. Drama. Visually dark.

Shrinking- lighthearted and humorous. Good to watch back to back.

The last thing he told me- slower paced, good enough for trainer but not to watch in “real life”.

Platonic- dumb and humorous. Interesting enough for the trainer. Mini series.

Netflix

Community- my favorite comedy. Similar to the office but weirder and less long arching stories.

Ballers- shallow and stupid but a good time waster on the trainer. Drama but not that serious

Suits- lighthearted drama if that’s possible

You- weird show but interesting. Darkish. About a stalker/serial killer.

Arrested development- comedy. Similar to community. Off beat. I like this one a lot as well.

Those are some of my favorites for long trainer rides.

Homeland (hulu, maybe others) is a GREAT one that hasn’t been posted yet.

I second Americans, Mad Men, West Wing. Mentalist is another good one with endless episodes. The Good Wife. Psych is super entertaining and usually on Prime… Flash for action fans is on netflix (not amazing but good trainer material). Castle, Bones… Hawaii 5-0… I’m not sure which of these are currently on streaming but you’ve got options.

If you’ve really been living under a rock, any tv series pre-2015ish (pre streaming) is a decent bet since IMO much more work was put into a series. I’m jealous haha. Most made-for-streaming is unnecessarily stretched out and slow since their objective is to keep you watching for as long as possible with as little work as possible, not keep you coming back week after week. Prime is the worst with this.

I don’t think of any of these as dark although Americans and Homeland have their moments.

In a similar vein to what someone said earlier, I’ve got a collection of Blu-ray of some of my favourite films to watch along with as I train. I normally put the subtitles on as well.

Whilst it’s fun watching some old classics like Gladiator or The Rock, it gets even better watching along with directors commentary and I learn even more behind the scenes stuff. Sometimes I’ll just pick a theme, like watching all the Batman films, or all the Marvel films.

I also made an investment on some of the series that have been mentioned like Breaking Bad, The Wire and Game of Thrones. They also have extras like commentary tracks.

I appreciate buying physical media is strange these days, but I just couldn’t keep up with which Netflix to go with. And I can then watch it at my own pace.

Lots of great recommendations here. I’ll add mine:
Breaking Bad was my first trainer show
Ozark
Succession is the most recent really good trainer show I’ve seen.
Other notables I didn’t see mentioned:
Billions (pretty good)
Fargo
Once a winter I like to re-watch the Godfather during long rides
Someone recently recommended Bosh so I’m going to check out that one

I would recommend:
Battlestar Gallactica
The Wire
Breaking Bad
Band of Brothers
Stargate Universe
Lost (the first couple of seasons)
The Walking Dead (first 6 seasons)
Deadwood (a bit hard to watch on the trainer because you have to pay close attention to the dailogue)

For the trainer and cycling fans:

El día menos pensado - Three seasons about Team Movistar on Netflix. Not sure the name of the show in English.

De Ronde - One long episode about a bit of the behind the scene of Tour of Flandern, really well made and edited. It’s on YouTube. There are a few of them now, I think this is the first:

For some time I’ve made it a rule to only watch on the trainer. Works like charm.

White lotus (!)
The punisher
Berlin station
House of cards
Dexter
Bridge (European version)
Peaky blinders
Narcos

And from the stuff that everybody watched, but not me:
The office
Friends
Two and a half men
Game of thrones
