Today whilst doing a workout on my Elite Suito trainer and Trainer Road , the watts randomly went up and down a little , rather frustrating but only for a few seconds…I recently charged my Favero Assioma pedals also…I have re-calibrated everything and hope all ok for my next workout.
Was this in ERG mode? Are you using power match with the power pedals? If in ERG mode, was the resistance going up/down, the prescribed power, or the measured power?
I’ve found the best way to do what Eddie is recommending is to turn off every single device that can possibly connect. Even if you don’t think you’re using it. Something is fighting for control and you’re briefly swapping back and forth between controllers. Turn them all off, even the trainer, and then only turn on the bare minimum things you need for your next workout. Once you’ve done that, you should have eliminated the problem. Then you can start slowly turning everything else on. Hopefully it stays fixed, but if not, you’ll have found the culprit.
After my workout I reset everything and I did notice my Favero pedals won’t connect if my suito trainer is connected, I disconnected the trainer then I saw my pedals, I then reconnected the trainer and done a recovery session, again I got repeating drop in watts that you can see.
I have sent a request to Favero , I have then set to Unified channel, but did see they are set to dual pedals…I can set to single and bot sure if this is needed, I can’t recall why I would change this.
It’s odd why all this seems to have started since I charged my pedals, not sure if it’s just a coincedence.
The Suito IME suffers baddly from interference. I like its size/ foldability and I use my Favero Be Pro S power meter instead for stability so I continue to use it but if I was relying on the Suito’s power estimation I would have binned it. I would suggest you ignore the Suito’s estimates and use your power meter instead
I have used it for years without this issue…how can i have my Favero pedals over ride the trainers power as I need it connected in erg mode to do the workout
You could try Elite’s Powermatch to have the trainer read directly from the pedals. I tend only to use ERG below Threshold. The drops outs could make it problematic with my Suito and I am unconstrained for VO2max and I can push to my actual max.
On the lap top its just the ‘T’ key to toggle modes and the < and > keys to change resistance and you can change gears if you want to too. When you toggle it there’s an icon down the bottom that says ‘ERG’ or ‘Resistance’ depending what mode you are in.
I have always been in erg mode with my pedals connected, my trainer suddenly decreased the watts and then increased it , it’s only a few seconds, trainer road remained in the target watts.
