When eating a fish salad I will add a cooked egg to get all amino acids needed to absorb the protein. I really don’t want to eat the egg as well, but is this necessary to absorb the fish protein ? Thanks for help
The answer is no. Animal proteins are complete proteins.
They used to think that vegetarians needed to pair incomplete proteins (like rice and beans) for absorption but that is no longer the case. As long as you eat enough protein from a variety of sources during the day, you’ll get all that you need.
