Hi, the Suggested vo2 workout from my current plan has a much higher score than my current level. Is this as expected? Honestly I think I could do it😜 just seems a bit of a step.
I say go for it.
I think TR have tweaked something - I’ve had a few workouts planned in recently where I’ve noticed a similar thing, especially in zones I’ve not worked on specifically in a while, where the level jump was high but the workout felt right when I did it ![]()
Edit: just noticed your anaerobic progression level - the suggested VO2 max workout fits well with that….
It was announced a few weeks ago AI was adapting workouts to peoples current abilities based on everything rather than PL’s which for a lot of folk (me included) have decayed over the summer with a lack of workouts and a plethora of outside riding. Go for it, AI has faith in you ![]()
Yes.
My experience is; It’s going to test you in the higher zones. I have not seen it happen in zone 2 or 3. It’s a torture sort of thing. Mentally and physically.
Definitely correct, there’s a new mechanism predicting what you should be capable of beyond regular PL limitations. It is a challenge to say the least, but it’s usually on point. Got a jump from 3,2 to 9,2 in Anaerobe just last week. Getting through the workout was no easy ride, but very rewarding (instant FTP increase by 2%)
As usual with TR these days, just trust the process/AI, the results may surprise you.
Mentally that jump is daunting AF, but the system wouldn’t assign it if there wasn’t data to support your being able to complete it.
TR has changed the way they recommend workouts where your PLs have artificially dropped due to not having done them recently. If you’ve kept your fitness up with other zones, the AI knows, and you’ll get an appropriately difficult workout, which is a big improvement. This just happened to me, and it was just the right level of difficulty. Hopefully they’ll fix the PL discrepancy soon to match what workout they think you can do rather than the formulaic PL degradation.
Hi. Do you have a reference handy?
It been discussed in a few similar threads recently and I think Admin have stepped into make it official. I think this is one such thread
Thankyou very much, H
