Yup, looks like he shaved 2min off of the record. Official fastest time is 7:29:57. Sheesh!

Haha! I like his style. Lachlan is my new role model.

I think Lachlan is now trolling Phil Gaimon … Phil only just posted his video on why Lachlan’s first attempt didn’t count, and now Phil has to make another one explaining that actually Lachlan now does officially have the record after all…

Phil must be really broken up about having another easy video to do.

Damn. Guess Lachlan is gonna have to go for it a 3rd time!

13% and long. Just a Few repeats. Looks like hard way to do it. Her write up shows why she was a pro rider, no shortage of HTFU resilience,

Oh well. Everyone has their thing.

Apparently Phil’s FTP is 404 and he did his record at ~290 watts.

I don’t know about that, I heard it was 403. :man_shrugging:t4:

Also peak British hill climb style bike, with chopped bars, bodged single ring, modified cassette, no bottle cages.

Imagine he would have broken 7 hours with a bit of drillium…

I haven’t seen any posts about Emma’s article on CyclingTips. I read it when it came out, but since I haven’t seen it here, I thought it should be shared.

And… while this isn’t a record, it’s still really impressive.
