Not happy with my plan

Hi! The last years i did. a midvolume plan. After Reading a few Posts Talking About their improvment with low volume i decided to do a low volumen this Winter. But now i have a plan with only 3.5h per week. Any ideas how to raise the Hours. I dont want to Switch to an alternate workout every second time manually.
Nice greets from Austria!

I usually create MV/HV plan, keep key workouts and remove the fillers.

EDIT: hopefully your actual goal becomes reality soon: TrainerRoad - what do users expect / want in the future - #146 by Nate_Pearson

Thanks. Didnt know about that thread. I think i will wait and fill up my calendar manaually for the next time.

Hey @Woolfitrol,

How many hours each week are you looking to ride? Also, how did you feel during your mid-volume Build phase last year?

You have a couple of options here, depending on your goals.

  1. You could bump your plan up to mid-volume. This will schedule five rides each week as opposed to the three you get with low-volume, and your volume will increase to around 6 hours/week to start compared to the 3.5 you’re currently seeing. This is the better option if you plan on regularly training five days a week and like more of a “hands-off” approach.
  2. You could keep your plan at low-volume and add in TrainNow rides as you see fit. This could help if you don’t plan on regularly having five days a week to train. This could also be a good option if you’d like to add Endurance rides to your low-volume plan to keep the overall intensity lower and don’t mind adjusting your schedule each week.

Either option will work well. You did mention that you don’t like to have to constantly adjust your schedule, so maybe the first option would be best for you. There’s no pressure to complete each ride that’s on your calendar, so don’t worry about skipping workouts here and there if you choose to bump up to a mid-volume plan!

Feel free to reach out if you need any more assistance. I’d be happy to help some more!

I Had no Problems with the Plans and die every workout. I did them for 6 or 7 months (Winter). The Bigger problem is some General biking fatigue about August/ September. So i thought i reduce the Training time in Winter to be more motivated in the end of the Summer…
Greets from Austria!

Hey @Woolftirol,

I’m assuming that you mean you “did” every workout and had no problems. Let me know if I’m wrong here.

This makes sense now. Maybe it’s best for you to keep your Base phase as low-volume for now, and then you have the option to add in extra Endurance rides as you see fit if you’d like without the pressure of overdoing it.

You have the option to switch the volume of the phase that you’re in by clicking on the annotation in your calendar, as shown below. Once you’re feeling good and back on track, you could get back into mid-volume down the road this way if you’d like.

Let me know if this helps!
