In the past few rides, I have logged onto the software it does not find either my TACX or heart strap. I close the program, reboot and still no find. Then out of the blue - sometimes 20 minutes later it finds it. I am not suggesting it is the TR software, but has anyone else had the issue and got any tips on fixing it? Is it my laptop?
Make sure you don’t have a different device connected to them that is locking up the Bluetooth.
Do you have Wi-Fi enabled on your laptop? At least with my Mac mini, if I have Wi-Fi enabled, Bluetooth connectivity is wacky (lots of dropouts). Luckily I out in an Ethernet port, so I can disable Wi-Fi (though it gets re-enabled with OS updates ).
It could also be a neighbor’s Wi-Fi that is causing issues
As @mcneese.chad said, try turning BT off on devices you aren’t actively using when training. It’s also worth checking your laptop’s settings page itself – sometimes, trainers can connect to the laptop before connecting to the app. If that’s the case, disconnect the trainer from the laptop’s settings page, then it should become viewable to the TR app.
Double-check any phones/tablets etc. nearby as well. If your TACX or HRM connects to another device first, they won’t be able to connect to TR.
